I took it to the dealer after discovering what looked like oil and black grease between the transfer case and transmission. They dismissed it as road grime. Any thoughts?
My transmission sweats a very thin residue of oil at the very bottom. Dealership has been useless as they claim there is nothing on the cover plate therefore it’s not considered a leak.
The fact that it’s not totally dry and oily to touch is deemed OK by them. Time will tell. If it’s just porous case and the little loss of fluid is insignificant, it’s fine, but if it gets worse after warranty…..

I made them document it just in case something does go wrong after warranty. it was frustrating because I took the car for one thing which they dismissed and then tried to sell me a cabin filter for $120 that I literally replaced 2 weeks ago. also they claimed I needed an alignment because of the wear pattern on the tires. the tires were literally installed 2 days ago and have maybe 20 miles on them.

I have words - Pretty typical and highway robbery. I often wonder how many folks actually say okay. Guessing it must be a decent percentage because they continue to ask. Just think of the margin/profit associated with this.
