Angry Touchpad doesn't work 2019 RDX

I have a 2019 RDX and while using Carplay the touchpad is worthless. It will not go to items to select ant items. Anyone have the same problem? This has been a problem since new and I will not purchase another car with touchpad. If it worked, then it would not be bad.

My understanding is that when Carplay/Android Auto is connected, instead of functioning as a replication of the screen (touch the pad relative to where you would touch the screen), it is more like a laptop track pad. There is a pointer you can move around, and you need to click the pad like a mouse button to select whatever the pointer is over. Stuff will not highlight/select as you move your finger over them, and where your finger is on the pad is not at all related to where the pointer on the screen may be.

I just got a 2021 rdx and was struggling to use the touchpad with CarPlay when I realize it doesn’t work like a touchpad, but like the arrow keys on a key board instead. Each swipe left, right up or down correlates to a single arrow press on a keyboard. So you can’t swipe across the CarPlay screen, you have to swipe swipe swipe, each swipe being one press of an arrow key. Make sense?

Thanks, I’ll try that, but that makes it extremely hard to use while driving.
