2019 RDX Suspension Travel Noise - Front Left
thats not a real fix. They have updated part for it. Your noise will be back, but now you can not take it in because you wont be able to replicate the noise.
This may, or may not, be a longterm fix. As mentioned, Acura has been replacing LCAs in many vehicles as their fix, but surely would have only lubed them if they thought that was sufficient. If you want to continue self-medicating if the noise returns, and plan to keep the car longterm, I'd suggest a silicone lube. I don't know what you used already, but I'd avoid something like WD-40, or similar general purpose sprays; they can degrade rubber. Good luck.
I used a silicone based lube and my “fix” was more for my own self assurance that the noise was actually from the lca
and it is-
but eventually I know it will wear off and I will have to have the arms replaced-
but it sure is nice and quiet now

I use Scottys advice and spray all rubber bushings under car with AT-205 couple times a year.
it rejuvenates and protects rubber from drying out.
but I agree, sealer/grease is not a solution for squaking shocks on a new car

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's experiencing this problem again even after having the lower control arms replaced. Had 2 months and 2000 miles on the new set before it also started squeaking again. First ones lasted 4 months and 3000 miles. 2020 Advance model.
Update: After 4 months and another 4000 miles the problem came back. I also had an issue where the roof would creak on my driveway, and a groaning sound when closing the trunk. The dealership suggested that I must have abused the car offroading or bent something in an accident because it's too much of a coincidence for these things to all happen at once, and was very hesitant to fix the issues. Yes, me, a 58 year old man with a bad back decided to go offroading in an Acura. They said because they've already replaced the lower control arms twice, they won't do it again. Left a very bad taste in my mouth, and coupled with the infotainment system issues I have been having, after they fixed it I traded the car in last week for a new 2020 GLC350e. Got a great deal on it too, almost $10000 off sticker, and $1000 from the power company. Life is too short to deal with bull.
they just released updated TSB that has -A05 part, they first had 03, then 04, and now 05. Its possible that you got the older version

As a lawyer, I'm well aware of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. But, just because I'm in the right doesn't mean it's a fight worth fighting. Push comes to shove I may win, but at what cost of my time, energy, and happiness. I sent an email to Acura corporate about this and only got a canned generic response. Instead of wasting more time dealing with this in the future, I decided to cut my losses. Like I said, life is too short to waste time fighting with companies who don't care.
I should add, I bought an Acura specifically to avoid wasting time at the dealerships and having headaches with things that break. Been there, done that. But if it's going to be no more reliable than other brands and the dealership treats me no better (or worse) than elsewhere, then what's the point?

Sorry for poor quality image, this is from recent Consumer Reports.

That is cost to own, not repair.
This doesn't paint a very good picture of Acura either, look at the brands that are above it. I've owned many of them and can both agree they're less costly to own, but are generally FAR better vehicles in every way.

We continue to have problems. Just checked the oil at 6K and it looks like oil from a funnel cake stand at a county fair. Burnt. Black. Destroyed. Our other cars with 50K miles (Toyota) with 6K on the oil look like warm honey.
Also, a 2-hour highway drive yesterday: Twice the transmission became confused after accelerating and decided to not upshift; holding a gear until I used the paddles to upshift and then synched up
Leg cramps from the seat. For the 23 MPG it returned I'd expect a lot more go from this motor. Irresponsibly numb steering.
We're headed the same route.
Actually, you make a very good point, except I don't agree that the brands above Acura are FAR better vehicles....I hadn't previously noticed that Chrysler is at the top representing the lowest cost "to own" over 10 years. (It is extremely unlikely that I will own ANY vehicle for anywhere near 10 years) If depreciation is taken into account, then the whole chart is suspect. One really needs too see the information that was used to prepare the chart. I only noticed how low on the chart Mercedes was in comparison to others in reference to the poster who commented about trading his Acura in on one.
Good for you!

Do you have UOA analysis for oil? Not much weight in color observations.
My new (about 2k miles) 2020 A-Spec is now making this suspension noise in the front AND rear. Build date is 12/19. Started noticing it with the cold weather. I read all 217 replies to this thread and it seems that there have been a few revisions to the control arms over the past year+. For those of you who had this "fixed", has the noise returned?

They replaced mine like 10 month ago with newer revision, not the latest, been holding up pretty good. I think if you get latest revision it should take care of it.
They just replaced your fronts only with the 04 part number, right? Mine is actually worse in the rear and happens daily. The front I only heard a couple times now. I wonder what the rear fix is since I didn't see it mentioned much here.
Yes, they replaced both front lower control arms. I never had issues in the rear suspension, I dont think its common. I forgot part number, but I know they updated part number one more tine after I got the replacements. They have TSB for it, so I am pretty sure you will get the latest part, its been around long enough.

Took an hour off work today to do a test ride with the service manager. Finally got them to hear the front suspension squeak and creak over bumps! It only took 1 year of complaining and dropping my car off. He was surprised nobody else asked me to come on a test ride with them. Hopefully they solve this problem.

Its a shame they actually wanted to reproduce the problem and waste your time. There is an open TSB for this issue (replacement of lower control arms). When I mentioned it to my dealer, no questions asked, they scheduled appointment to replace with the loaner car ready.
This issue has been the second hardest to get fixed. Acura corporate is really digging in. The hardest is the 2 issues with the infotainment system for loss of comms error and drive mode unavailable msg. I’m trying to get the system replaced.
I tried exactly that with the TSB in hand and they told me Acura would not authorized a replacement with them not being able to duplicate it. Every time I dropped my car off I would make sure it was parked outside and cold through the night and next day. I would tell them to drive it first thing in the morning and they could never reproduce it. As soon as I would pick up the car a few days later bam I would hear it as I left the lot. This time I told the manager not to creep over bumps. Acura corporate was running the block. The manager wanted to just do the replacement via the TSB.
Extrange sound left suspension side
Hello: In August 2019, I bought an RDX, and I have noticed a sound similar to something loose, as if something was hitting precisely on the left side of the suspension. I got to comment on the dealer and what they told me was normal so I have had to live with this constant sound at speeds between 5 to 10 miles per hour but once I pass 15 I don't really hear anything ... but It is something that I understand they should fix since the sound is common in almost all RDX 2019 models ...
Vehicle: 2019 Acura RDX SH-AWD with Technology Package
Miles: Approx. 1000
We noticed front end "suspension travel noise" going over speed bumps at approx. 7 miles per hour. The dealer replaced faulty (noisy) left front strut - the noise has not changed. The dealer stated that this noise is normal for this vehicle. The noise is similar to the noise an older car would make, sounds like a good lubrication is needed, however the dealer has performed lubrication as well.
We don't believe this is a normal sound this vehicle should make.
Please let me know if your RDX makes any suspension travel noises over speed bumps.
Thank You

Spoke too soon. After a 500 mile round trip to NC and back home my front suspension is louder than before and more frequent! Back to the dealer on Wed 6 Jan. Pretty much started on the following day till now. I figured I would give it a week to let the new parts wear in but that didn’t help. I hear the squeaking and creaking at all speeds and now it sounds like a 80 year old car! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Acura!

Spoiler
Sorry you are having these repeat issues!
Thanks JB. I just hope they don’t feed me some BS. If they do it’s going to be very hard to control my temper. I have spent way to much time at the service dept for all these issues. It feels like I work there.....

The TSB replaced both lower control arms with updated model? This is very strange, it normally fixes an issue. I am thinking they either did it wrong or you have a different issue. This sucks
Well went to the dealer today and took a ride with the head mechanic in service. Didn’t even get out of the bay before the suspension started screaming. Continued driving through the parking lot and you could hear it clear as day. Brought the car back into the service bay and he wanted to keep the car but they didn’t have a loaner at that time. After getting home Acura called around 4pm and said they have a loaner and bring the car back tomorrow (07 Jan 21).
We will see if the 2nd go around at this is gonna fix it.
