USB Splitter set up possible?

My wife is Apple. I am android. It would be pretty convenient to have both cords plugged in and even both phones for a longer trip.
Theoretically, it seems a USB splitter with a switch/button could work to make this possible.
Anyone tried this, or have a better solution?
So far, this is my only minor quibble with our 2020 RDX SH-AWD Tech.
Thanks in advance for ideas, or just say fuggetaboutit.

Uh oh...I made the cardinal sin of not finding a prior post on this question, which I now have found. Pardon me.
If anything can be added to this great, if not, I did find info on this.

I tried a basic USB 2.0 splitter to use a flash drive for media and my iPhone for CarPlay but it didn't work. The flash drive wasn't detected and I can't remember if CarPlay even worked through the splitter. In theory, I could see a splitter with a switch would work (one device at a time), but what's the benefit of that over unplugging one device and plugging in another? If all you want is charging, you can accomplish this with a splitter.

Power splitting is the easy part. But having to plug in and unplug phones and flash drives, (I know, a 1st world problem), is a bit of a hassle, plus the wear and tear on the USB port.
So, I have ordered a USB splitter with a switch for each port.
The Apple in one, the Note 8 in the other, a flash drive full of tunes in another.
I will report back with success or not.

USB Hub* is the word you're looking for.

I think potentially the only concern is that you may need a powered hub if a passive one doesn't
