Useless side screen/surround view camera?

I find the surround/over the top view of the vehicle useless for 2 reasons. It’s too small for my eyes. And it makes the backup camera view too small (smaller view than my 2012 Rdx backup camera).
Tho I just watched a review video of a 2024 Rdx and that surround view image appears in that worthless right hand screen that is useless otherwise. This makes sense to me. So is this an update to the software in newer models? Or do i have a setting not correct? It would really make sense to have that over the top view camera on that worthless right hand side screen then the main screen is just for the rear backup camera. Please let me know if there’s a setting i can change to utilize this.

It is a pretty bad camera system for a supposely upscale car. My 2019 VW is way better in pretty much every way. On my wife's 2022 RDX, it seems that you can only turn on the back camera by putting the car into reverse. A petty thing, but the color rendition doesn't match between the various cameras. And mainly, the display size and clarity is poor, and lack of options to show various views. We cross shopped a 2022 Gensis GV70 at the same price as the RDX, and its 3D camera was amazing.

Interesting. I have a 2023 RDX Aspec Advanced. I find the surround views very useful for parking, I use them all the time. I believe you can cycle thru views by pressing the button on the end of the turn signal lever.

Love the 360 camera in my '23. I find it super useful when parking and navigating tight spots. I agree that the screen real estate could be better utilized though.

First of all, I really like my RDX. However, my biggest gripe is the camera. My 2017 Murano has a much better camera; better camera resolution; much clearer and brighter image displayed on the screen. I just assumed I'd get a better camera in an Acura. Disappointing, but certainly not a deal breaker.

I find the cameras useful and plenty adequate for their purpose. I mean, you're not making HD movies with them.

but I could be backing over little kids.
as I said, it should be better than the 2012 I got, and it’s not

The camera resolution isn't the greatest, but you can most certainly see little kids behind your car with it.
Not to mention the other bells and whistles that go off when you get too close to something.

Not looking to produce any movies. I just think 2023 Acuras ought to have cameras that are at least the quality of 2017 Nissans. But as I said, it's not a deal breaker. Just disappointing that's all.

I think the SINGLE thing Nissan and Kia/Hyundai are really good at is Cameras; they always have very crisp quality. Honda has historically always had bad cameras IME.

I would agree with that. Our 2018 QX60 has a better camera than my 2022 RDX but it also has a CVT and drives like a sofa. So there are trade-offs everywhere.
