Wish Acura had an RDX Type S that could have replaced the RX in the comparison, which had no business whatsoever being there.
It's no surprise to me. I've enjoyed my two GV70s so much I've now ordered a GV80 Prestige as well.

A quick update on my post from April 22:

I met my neighbor last night and we chatted about his experience with GV70.
In summary, he is happy with the car and everything is going smooth. He feels the car is smoother and quieter than the RDX. But he misses the sportiness and agility of RDX. One of his issues with the GV70 is the handling. He mentioned that it feels a lot heavier and lacks personality, whereas the RDX felt like a small sedan.

I asked him: "Will you get another Genesis, specifically GV70 after your 36 months lease?" His answer was no! He will either go back to Acura RDX or he wants to upgrade to the new RX350. He was impressed by the new design and engine specs based on the recent press release.

Those who are interested in the RDX and GV70. This is the feedback I got from an actual owner who had an Acura and now a Genesis.

I think his feedback is very accurate. Also, he has no intention to bash one or the other car. So, I believe in his feedback and mini review than youtubers or people that never had any of the cars lol!

That's pretty funny. Someone who wants more sportiness and agility opting for an RX350 over a GV70. I dont know what trim level your friend has but my 3.5T Sport Plus absolutely runs circles around the RDX and blows away the Lexus in terms of sportiness and yes, I had a 3G RDX as well. So you'll take the opinion of one person who's owned both cars but not that of another person who's also owned both cars. Seems odd to me.

The issue is that you don't read and you jump to conclusion to proof your point.

I cleared said reference to my post from April 22. First of all, he got the 2.5L GV70 and not 3.5T (this was already clarified in my previous post), and second of all on my yesterday's post, I clearly wrote: "He was impressed by the new design and engine specs based on the recent press release". He is a simple and honest guy, he did not pretend to know everything about RX350. He watched a few videos on Youtube just like you and me.
I am confident, Neither you, him or I know how agile or good the new RX350 is. Unless, I missed something here and Lexus sent you a RX350 with their top tier F Sport Performance with 367 HP engine and you tested it and it wasn't agile. If that's the case, please accept my apologies. If that's not the case, then your opinion and feedback just lost all its credibility when you don't even read and comment. No one argued that the 3.5T GV70 is not good. It's a different beast and believe me, I test drove it, and I have said it before, it's a great car but that car has nothing to do with RDX as it's $17,275 more expensive (at least in Canada - Top trim RDX vs. Top trim 3.5T GV70). Hope you take your time and read this time

Regards,

Regards,
Your right, the top trim RDX is not in the same class as the V6 GV70. The RDX is a nicely equipped compact crossover with a peppy little 4 cyl. The RDX is in desperate need of some V6 turbo power. The handling is nice but, no exhilarating acceleration. Genesis targeted the GV70 to compete with the compact performance BMW X3 M40i and MB AMG GLC43. They did okay with the luxury portion but, cant compete with the performance of the Germans. The RX350 is still just a rolling couch. Toyota cares nothing about performance. Their only performance vehicle (Supra) is a BMW with a Toyota badge on the hood.

Not that great comparison, he should have compared the RDX with the GV70 2.5T. I much prefer Alex on Auto and Redlines review.

I disagree, the differences in the engines and price were noted and its the top of the line of each vehicle.

I thought it was a great comparison, I believe the strength of the design and performance of the RDX really shine through. My issue with my RDX is quality, but when you take consumer confidence out of the puzzle you are left with a decent video that really impressed me and gave me some confidence in why I bought the RDX A-Spec Advance. Now if they can just fix the sunroof and crackling speakers........

Ok ok, so why didn't he compare the RDX with the GV70 2.5T ?? what is the point if he just noted? the GV7. 3.5T is almost 10k more, heavier and that impacted on handling.

Seems like you are trying awful hard to defend the GV70 on an acura forum (against a guy who is less than thrilled with my RDX).

Even with the extra 300lbs on the V6 it still didnt handle as well as the RDX. For me the GV70 was out as soon as I saw it, its not my taste and looks like an old AMC Pacer, YMMV.

No, I just want a fair and competent comparison. I love my RDX Aspec, it handles great, never had any problem with it. But I also think the GV70 looks great, has an interior worthy of a luxury car, it is RWD biased so it should drive sporty. A more powerful car does not necessary handle better, the extra weight could impact negatively on handling.

I feel it was a good comparison, for my money, IF I looked at a GV70 its only because of Horsepower, so the 3.5lTTV6 is the only option. But at that price I'd spend the $67k on the BMW X3M40i, even though I have an X3 M-Sport in my stable and dont LOVE it. theM40i is really a spectacular automobile, but not as comfortable as the my RDX. If you like th looks its cool, taste is subjective, people eat hot dogs with ketchup, I dont but people do (just not in my house).
