Acuralink iPhone App Forces itself to Foreground

2019 RDX - recently updated my iPhone to iOS 13.7, and ever since whenever I plug my phone in, or start the car and phone connects via bluetooth, the Acuralink app forces itself to the foreground and requires me to touch "dismiss" and then it asks me if it's safe for me to be using it. I recall this issue used to happen at least a year or ago but went away after something updated. Any ideas how to stop it from happening again aside from waiting for another update that addresses it?

Disable background refresh option for Acuralink App ?
Settings->General Settings->Background app refresh
turn off the option for Acuralink app.

But this would stop the Acuralink from running in the background, not sure if you care.

Same thing happens on my iPhone. Its especially annoying when I have waze or another app up, and it forces itself onto my screen. I just double click and swipe it away quickly. I don't need the app running and once I get the remote start module installed, I'm going to delete the app anyway.

I tried turning off background app refresh for the app, but it still happens

I think in iOS 14 you can block access in settings to the “local network” and this will stop. Gotta remember to explicitly test this theory though..

I am having this problem too, and this does not solve it. I did not grant it permission to access local devices and am still having this very annoying problem.

Mine doesn’t force its self to the foreground. I just plug in my iPhone, unlock it, place it beside the cup holder and drive away. I never open the app when connected to the car. No need to.

Same thing just started for me with iOS 14. CarPlay won't work until i "dismiss" the AcuraLink message. I know it's not that big a deal, but it is annoying and I wish it would stop. I don't use the AcuraLink app anyway so I think I'll just uninstall it.
