iPhone 4 Pandora Streaming

Do I have to physically connect my iPhone 4 to stream Pandora or can I do it via bluetooth? General comments using the iPhone with the 2013 RDX are welcomed.
Thanks.

You can use either Bluetooth or the USB cable. I like the cable because it charges my phone at the same time.

The only issues I've had using my iPhone 4 are:
- iPhone doesn't use Message Access Profile, so no text retrieval through the car
- Getting the nav system to shut up when I receive a call
- If I'm listening to Pandora and turn off the car, leave the phone plugged in, and restart the car, I have to unplug the phone and plug it back in to get Pandora to play again.

Question Blackberry v iPhone

I've been told by a salesman and various websites that the Blackberry is the only mobile device capable of the MAP protocol (texts showing up on screen) and only an iPhone can stream Pandora. I know you can still load Pandora on the Blackberry but you'd have to connect with USB or Aux and can't control it.

Does anyone know if either device will gain the 2nd feature in the future? (iPhone getting texts or Blackberry getting Pandora)

My wife's Iphone as well as my Razr Maxx both stream Panadora via bluetooth.

On the other hand, when she uses bluetooth to make calls it sounds horrible.

That is disappointing. Are the vehicles head units updatable?(something like an"OS" update)

I will say that the screen looks nice with the Panadora. You get the album cover, song, etc. This is on a non nav.

Do you get the album cover if you're playing from ipod/flash drive? (assuming, of course, that you have the album art!)

Yes but be warned, not all devices work. Her Iphone and flash drive works but she has an Apple Nano doesn't. Actually it works for awhile and then stops.

Sounds like it's time for a trip to Best Buy (or slickdeals for that matter) for a 32gig flash drive. Granted I'm sure the HDD on the tech package is slightly faster but for 30-odd dollars, seems like a pretty cost effective solution.

Looks like IOS6 added this, so hopefully this will work without any vehicle updates required (as if that would ever happen anyway).

I've seen posts in other auto forums that it is working with some other (non-Honda/Acura) vehicles with the IOS6 beta..

ONLY and FYI..
I was able to get a BB10, with a Pandora app called Apollo, to bluetooth stream to the RDX sound system. The sound system only displays "pandora.com" and does not display song information or related image.

I'm more confused than ever. I have a Blackberry 9800 Torch and the Acura phone search site says that Pandora isn't supported on my 2014 RDX with ANY of the "trim levels".

I don't know if I will ever use it, but just wondering why their info is so confusing?

I use my Ipad thru the connector and it works fine.

One thing about the HDD is that I don't think you can move songs to it other than through an audio CD. I didn't read anything in the manual about DVD-A's thou, but it won't rip MP3's to the HD.
