No Spark Issue
No Spark Issue
Good Evening Everyone and Happy Easter.I am currently having a no start issue. The car cranks and it gets fuel.I shot it with some starting fluid and nothing...
I was wondering If anyone has had a similar experience? I have done a bunch of troubleshooting the past few days. I am fearing I might have to replace the ECM.
I turn ignition on and I get the check engine symbol, The green key comes on for a brief moment and goes off.
I pulled the valve cover off and timing chain is tight. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
I can get a used ECU,in my area and I do know the part numbers must match
These I have done already:
I shot it with starting fluid first, nothing
I replaced Crank sensor and cams sensors still no spark
I am getting voltage, ground and signal to sensors and coil packs
I am in need of a good engine wiring scheamitic
Any help and infirmation would be greatly appriciated!

Hum, why are you concluding it's the ECU? It's rare that the ECU would fail. Likely the no start is due to something else. Probably best is to have someone qualified perform a proper diagnostic. It will be cheaper than starting to replace parts, especially the ECU. You may want to start taking the spark plugs out and check them, and (in case the car is flooded) put a drop of motor oil in each cylinder (through the spark plug hole) before putting the plugs back. (if the car is flooded, this will help re-create compression in the cylinders).

if you read the owners manual....it states: IF the green key symbol continues to flash; then you have an immobilizer issue.
your green key symbol was just going through the start up procedure and turns off; therefore you do not have an immobilizer issue.

it also sounds like you are not troubleshooting; instead you're just replacing parts...dont do that..it will get expensive and as you have found out, problem is still not solved. stop throwing parts at it.
The cam sensors were replaced about 6 months ago, The crank sensor was recently done, I do have a Schematic and some troubleshooting procedures that I printed out from work. ( I work at O'Riley auto LOL yeah make fun of me!). So I have been using that as a reference. For the past few days I have been shooting wires and checking continuity and voltages, in the Ignition system
Justinspace thanks for your insight, but I am trying not to throw parts at it. Crank sensor was cheap enough to replace. So far all the wiring seems to be intact. I can have a O-Scope at my disposal tommorrow, I can check afew things with that..
TSXV6Guy, I am not concluding the ECM is faulty but I am taking that into account that it may be.. I have seen brand new flight control computers go bad,and components that are priced in the 10's of thousands of dollars fail...
time and weather have been working against me the past few days, I am trying to rule out wiring and the simple stuff before I am considering a ECM fault or anything else...
Ill figure it out,and I will keep you guys posted on what I fined,Thanks you!
