Anyone else have A/C trouble?

Last Thursday, the A/C in my 2010 simply died. I fired her up for the evening commute, and got a blast of hot air that never turned cold. Until then, I thought it was the best A/C in any car I've had, and a major component failure is not exactly what I was looking for with Acura (Honda). It's probably an air temp sensor, but it's a pain nonetheless.

Anyone else have this issue?

Never had any problems with mine. Actually,I've not had a single problem in 43,000km. No car is perfect, that is why we have a warranty.

check your condenser in the front to see if theres a rock lodged into it. If so maybe a grey area with the dealer.

You may also want to check the compressor fuse or relay - But since it's under warranty, best is to take it to the dealer.

It's going to the dealer on Tuesday. I was just curious if the A/C had a known problem, so I could know what to expect for time of repair, and because I'm just curious in general. It's definitely under warranty @ 15,000 miles.

I hope the 2G does not end up having the same A/C troubles as the 1G (mostly 2004 models).

I replaced the relay twice on my 2004, last one was May of this year. You didn't hear any kind of noise before it went out, did you?

Nope. Worked fine in the morning, then simply didn't work in the afternoon.

Usually with a relay, it'll work sometimes, but not others. Or it'll work for a few minutes, then stop. It's intermittent. So it sounds like it might be something else.

It appears to be a freon leak. They couldn't locate it, so they added flourescent dye to the freon so it will be visible when it runs low again. Doesn't appear to be any design flaw. Just one of those things.

Got a loaner TSX with V6. Nice ride, but I'll take the I4/6MT combo any day.

i'm having A/C problems as well, like you it works in the morning, but when the vehicle gets hotter during the day, it stops when i need it the most.

my dad thought it was the freon leak as well, but i noticed that my A/C compressor just stops working/doesn't spin when it blows hot air. keep me posted! i'd really like to know what the problem might be because i don't have warranty under my vehicle

^ why dont you have a warranty?

Looking through your previous post, you have a 2010 with 9k miles.....

Roadside 4 yr. / 50,000 miles
Basic 4 yr. / 50,000 miles
Drivetrain 6 yr. / 70,000 miles

1 1/2 years with 34k miles and no prob with my AC. Works fantastic actually. I envy the 2011 models getting the rear vents.
