Less mass and tighter sealing for maximum racecar performance. Keeps the oil from blowing out of the engine during max VTec and prevents Danger to Manifold.
I finally have an update! While there were a few obstacles during the whole process, it's finally completed and I'm very happy with my wheels/tires.
I ordered Gunmetal V710 VMR wheels (18x8.5+35) through Tracy, and he was very responsive and easy to talk to. While the wheels were on back order for a little while, I was pretty excited when they finally arrived in June. Unfortunately, due to some mistake, (not sure if it was on VMR side or their outsourced Machining) the center bore was not the correct size on all 4 of the wheels. The diameter was too small, and it wouldn't sit flush against the hub correctly. To add, the box was labeled with the correct specs so we didn't find the problem until all 4 wheels had already been mounted and balanced. I notified Tracy, and he immediately help setup shipping to return the wheels and have them machined correctly. It was a quick 10 day turnaround with the wheels being accepted and machined all in one day. The bulk of the time was ground shipping. All in all I know these kind of things can happen, especially with made-to-order parts, but it put me a little on edge since my tires were already way past due for service (my fault for not being more vigilant). I can honestly say that VMR did a great job getting me a deal on the wheels, they look absolutely fantastic, and the customer service and communication was superb.
Oh... and I wrapped up my new shoes in Pilot Super Sports 235 R18 40. These things are awesome, I should have done this as soon as I installed the supercharger haha
Pictures aren't the greatest, it got really hot outside lol Im sure I'll post more in the near future.

Okay, I just went and read through all 26 pages. I'm up to speed now. Follow up question now:
The chica back on page 6-ish... The one in the bikini working on your engine with a pipe wrench... Do you have any updates of that project? Asking for a friend.

lmao.. yeah latest update is that we got married about a year ago hahaha
One tip: Take whatever that keychain is and throw it away. Get yourself a short length of paracord or bootlace or something and use that instead. Keychains or "remove before flight" type tags always seem to flutter and wear off the paint around the ignition cylinder. I mean, it's not the end of the world, but I always have a sad when I see that because it's so easy to prevent.

Yeah its my first bike I hear ya on the keychain, I plan to keep my key independent and separate from the rest of my keys. I'm pretty excited for this season tbh. I was too cold when I picked it up (39F). My 20min drive home left my hands feeling like ice-cubes. But I was too excited to wait...
Oof. Yeah, good gloves are a necessity. I never invested in a good pair or winter gloves, just a pair of all leather gauntlet gloves (no liner), but I've never lived anywhere that cold. But there would be a couple days a year that made me look for some nice insulated ones.
Check out motorcyclegear.com and if you're patient and not picky you can get some really great deals. Aside from my first helmet, gloves, and jacket, everything I've bought has been from them.
I'm so jealous!! I've been toying with the idea of getting my motorcycle license.
Be careful, I convinced myself that I only wanted my license to better my driving skills and for the possibility of traveling to some foreign land where a motor-bike (road or offroad) may be the best way to get around. I wanted to have this skills just in case...
But literally the first training day on the bike I knew I wanted one lol. I got my license a year ago and I've finally realized my dream in buying this guy. I was kinda bummed about red :/ I really wanted white, but by the time I ordered there were no white CBR500 left.. and 2017 is only offered in red and this disgusting Halloween orange and black. So red it was...
Nice build. Regarding the centerbore issue, if you measured with a caliper and they were difference, then I can see the fault in the machinist. However, for the sake of others who may have a similar problem, Ive noticed even on new wheels from the factory, (Ive gotten calls from customers in the past, not too many but a few) that the wheel will not fit flush becasue fo the same perceived issue. However, after a few years, the centerbore hub on the car tends to have rust buiuld up and can grow by 1-2mm depending on the level of rust. In minor cases a simple steel brush and steel wool can solve the problem, but in more serious cases a grinder might be needed to get it back down to the OEM 64.1mm cb. Looks like it was taken care of, but if anyone else has that problem, its good to know. Drive safe!

Yeah unfortunately there was a huge difference. It was definitely not correct, because as I mentioned the box read the correct specs for my car, but when we measured the center bore the diameter was off by almost 8mm if I remember correctly. Either way it's been smooth sailing since it's been fixed! Thanks for the read, I'm a big fan of RonJon designs (as you probably remember I made a custom grille for my TSX to mimic what you guys did for the TL).
