What area of Utah are you in? I'm about to help a buddy move back to FL from Anchorage and we are driving through Salt Lake. I was wondering if it wasn't too out of the way, maybe I could take a look at the car. Perhaps, even catch a ride in it if you had the time, see if the thrill is worth the estimated quote. The car is gorgeous by the way!

Utah,

Question, what parts do I need for an exhaust setup? What I am looking for is pipe length for the SS, what mufflers are suggested, etc...

I am looking for about the same size exit as the stock tips. I was thinking like 3" from the downpipe/cat to the split, and then break it up to 2 2.5" back to the mufflers. Does this sound correct?

Also, what types of bends, a few 90' bends, right?

Just wow, been reading and following this thread for a while. Utah, your car looks and sounds awesome, Optimus I look forward to seeing your setup. And I'm sure all us 2nd gen owners thank both of you for the time effort and money put into this.

2 45 deg 3in and about 5 feet of straight 3in pipe to the y and 4 90 deg 2.5in from there mufflers ?? anything, or a muffle shop can bend and install it for much cheaper,
I've been talking to magnaflow about a converter and they suggest a Spun - Center/Center 3in PART# 59959 I'm hoping it will bring the sound level down and help reduce the black exhaust soot from sticking to the back of my white car, they say it is the most free flowing converter available and will be good on our turbo setups

Well I cant take it anymore the droan has got to go, I'm going to put a high flow spun metalic core magnaflow converter they tell me it will be ok to 500 HP with a loss in flow of no more than 5% over streight pipe, and I hope it will clean up my exhaust the black soot on the tips and rear bumper are a pain in my arse

My goodness, this is an awesome build/thread/story/everything. A very inspirational and emotional read. I'm so happy that the "final" issues you have to mitigate from this whole experience is the droning. Your car is beautiful, and you are very talented in what you do. Keep it up! Can't wait to see more 2Gs fitted with your work.

I just got the same cat that utah has. I'm going to have it welded into the down pipe, so that I can tune it from the get go with the unit in place. It should help the car have some acceptable level of noise I am hoping, as I am going to go 3" from the cat back... Not sure about mufflers still, but I do not want the black soot.

Also, I "believe" this weekend is the weekend that it is supposed to go down.

Of course a special thanks to the guy I have never actually met Utah. My mechanic is talking about driving out to meet you after it's all done.

Also of note, this weekend, is the weekend/week. Just paid vittuned to move this process forward. Hopefully tomorrow night I will be dropping my car off, and then by the time I am in town next week, I should have a reasonable running engine.

As always, I will update.

And I'll be selling my rv6 pipe to the individual who originally asked for it, lest he backs out...

Slight update, with the MT mounts, the kit does not fit.

I have a call out to Utah, and Axion to see if there are any other options.

But if this does not pan out, then it would appear that this is an automatic only option.

I blame the horrible mounts that this chassis has.

Ohhhhh shnaaaap! That sux! You would think you would have more room to play with on any m/t car than an a/t

I't fits the manual transmission, had to notch the engine mount bracket and use a different fitting for the oil drain, wasn't planning on that having to be done, would really like to find a local car for the next kit so I can make a few changes to the angle on the turbo so it will clear without modifying the bracket, and that will change the down pipe angle a little bit also

Utah is correct.

They did email/call last night, and some further work was performed to make it fit. I will have pictures once they are comfortable with it.

It is hard being the first. There is no doubt there.

Again thanks to Utah for answering the phone.

Utah, I will have pictures of the mount later today, with the further modifications you recommended.

There is an upcoming dyno day at a local acura dealership, and my guys are wanting to get the car tuned and ready for a swinging contest.

Hopefully we can make it.

Also, since the aftermarket totally wiffed on this car, a local race shop is going to construct a 3" cat back SS exhaust. Single, going out the passenger side, ala old school Honda.

Speaking with Utah, we believe this may be the best way to deal with the drone.

I am open to suggestions for ways to cover up the existing hole on the driver side.

Optimus?! I started a thread on this not long ago. Am I that unpopular on here sheesh! Not all my ideas are shit lol. I would do single out if I were you as well. I am still planning to convert to single out exhaust in the near future.

Lings honda parts IS the only place I've been able to even source the part or part number and you have to look at parts for the "2.0 comfort" model accord.. That is the type pictured above that comes with single out exhaust from factory. Took a while to find it

So, I seen the thread, this is for the passenger side correct?

Man, that is pricy... ugh....

Thanks for the information.

Did anyone actually go through with this?

Part number 7 on that link I sent you is what u need and it is for the left side.. That's only passenger side if you are living in the uk or japan .. Just find out what color code your factory paint is to pick the right color part and you r good to go!! For instance nh731p is for crystal black pearl.. Hope that helps

I would also get #'s 3,15 and 21 if you want to have factory mounting hardware holding the plug as well.. Food for thought

Crappy boy said he has seen some cu2's with the plug installed.. But I have yet to see it on anything but that black Chinese spirior model where it's stock.. Would love to see it on a modded tsx. Best way to see is doing it myself.. Take some pictures when u r done too

I have been looking for turbo blankets for the EFR....

No one has one right now, however, I called PTP today, and they just partnered with full race, and they plan on releasing a custom turbo blanket. SO... we have that going for us...

You can use a T4 blanket it will fit just wont cover the a few inches where the down pipe bolts up (the waste gate portion) will need blanket or a shield for sure or stuff will melt

Then just use the "mechanics wire" (not sure what that is) to tie the blanket together?

It's just bailing wire or stainless wire or mig welding wire or a coat hanger (anything) usually the blanket comes with springs to hold it on
