I for one actually like the Civic Si Sedan's headlights. Having this family resemblence is fine with me. I'm a honda-guy afterall. I don't feel threatened by my car "looking like a civic". I just care how I, myself, likes it. My lease runs up at the end of may, so the 09 TSX is in reach. I have been lurking around a lot, trying to figure out what I'm gonna do. I could find a leftover 08 TSXnavi for a steal, or go with the 09 TSXnavi or 08 TL-S. I'm assuming that the 09 TSXnavi will go for around 31K sticker. The TL-S is about 32-33 with discounts. With APRs being 6.9% compared to 2.9% for 08 models... the TL-S will be practically the same price, but be a higher end car albeit getting slightly dated in design. I'm torn of what I'll do in the end. Gas mileage and simplicity is what draws me to the TSX over the TL. But when I read through consumer reports and A-zine accounts, it seems like the TSX is actually not much more fuel efficient than the TLs. Hopefully Acura will make the 09 2.4i engine more efficient than it is now, and that would be a significant draw for me to the all new TSX. I do hope they put auto-locks and a backupCam in the 09 TSX, but that's kinda wishful thinking. What are your thoughts?

You are probally right. It all depends on what acura does, if production slows, we will get top dollar. Like when the RDX 1st hit, they flooded the market, we ended up giving them away. Now things are tight, so you either pay the right money or go to a cheaper car. And those pics, the TSX is going to be loaded with technology and going to look awesome. I really don't think that is even close to what it will look like. But April 24th we will all see.

One thing that does bother me is the wheel selection. They look so uninspiring. They're the same wheels on the camo'd TSX pics that I had hoped were just for 'practice'. I like a mulitple (>5) spoke design, which evokes more continuity.

If they can put a backup cam in the base prius, there is no reason why a tech packaged tsx wont/shouldnt have one as well.

For me it comes down to looks and how the car feels along with tech and engine options, as my 04 will be gone this time next year, I am hoping the replacement is with another acura, either the TSX or TL depending on what they offer with the redesigns.

Ride and drives typically happen before the car hits the showroom floor.

Do you know what the invoice & MSRP will be for the 2009 TSX?

Though a little more speculation I noticed that the headlights have a similar
shape as the concept tourer except for the bubble over the parkers.
Also the rear lights have a very similar resemblance to the concept in shape.
The front grill has the same shape and size but the fins look different.
On the video you can notice that tourer is very, very similar to what we have
seen in the concept.

Maybe the TSX will look very close to the Sports4 concept.
I pray we don't get shafted on this one.

I know it's extra money, but with about $1000 (or less in a lot of cases), you can easily change your wheels. I got some new RonJons for $600 to go on in the spring.

You are correct. Thanks for pointing this out. Those bubbles over the parkers are :ghey: . I agree, the back end of the tourer looks a lot like the concept and it looks good. Maybe just maybe this thing will turn out good enough to be parked in my garage.

No, I don't know what the MSRP will be. If I had to guess, $1000 to $1500 more than current. But it all depends on what kind of technology they stuff into it.

I believe they will include the backup cam on the Nav. Package. I doubt front sensors, Acura has always had that as an add on by the dealer.

Yes, they usally do. It makes no sense to have it after. We have nothing scheduled to see it before, only after it hits the show floor.

The car in the video has sensors on the bumber. I bet it will be standard.

Really? Even brand new cars, usually they give some sort of a discount. Of course it isn't the 3k under mrsp discount, but at least a 1000 or so. Am I mistaken?

Not true. We paid MSRP and waited 6 mo's for our 2003 Pilot. Of course had we waited we would have paid less.

When the MDX was first introduced, it was a 3 to 6 month wait to get one. It was sold for MSRP for 3 years. The 2007 MDX was sold for MSRP for the 1st 6 months. The TL-S was only the first couple. The 2004 RL was Almost 6 months @ MSRP. When this 2009 TSX hits, don't expect to get a discount, or a good financing deal, thats if you can even find one. When we have the opporitunity to make money, we are going to make alot. You might be forced to buy add ons. Most dealerships who only get a few TSX's may even go over MSRP. Where I work we don't go any higher than MSRP. But there will be no discount, I can assure you of that.

You might have to adjust your approach if the economy continues to go into the crapper and no one is buying cars....which is already the case.

I think you'll be surprised at the volume of people saying they got an $xxxx amount under mrsp as soon as the car starts selling. I'll just have to go chase down those dealerships.

You have to love the internet for that. And the internet sales managers that want to sell in volumes but not worried about profit from a single car. I won't be dealing with regular sales much at all.

Thats not my approach. Its Acura's. If people are willing to buy the product, faster than we can provide? Should we discount something we don't even have?

It is slow, but they'll try to tell you otherwise. The best times to get killer deals imo.

If a dealer is only getting 10 TSX's, volume in units means nothing. $$$ does. The internet is a wonderful thing, and we will use it to our advantage. Like I said Good Luck...

Oh, I don't mind waiting for a fresh newly ordered car to come in. I'll wait a few months easily for that.

I would suggest when there is a promotional Lease or Finance rate avail. This way if you get no discount at least you save on the rate.

That's not what I said. I said car sales are down in general, and if you can't sell what you have on the lot, then why would you keep the price at MSRP? Of course, things might change by then and the new model might be hot enough, but if not, you can't keep the price at MSRP b/c no one will buy them.

well look at this!

"the 2009 Acura TSX, is expected to debut next month for the U.S. market at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show."

I wouldnt post this if it came from any other site, but its from Edmunds. Edmunds usually isnt a site to post rumors or what not unless they're facts.

Things can be turning up very soon, because the chicago auto show starts on February 6th

Nice find. Maybe we'll all get our questions answered earlier then we thought. Press day for 2008 Chicago Auto Show is Feb 6-7th. Public viewing is Feb 8-17th.

Feb-march are the best sales deal. Go the last Saturday of the month in the afternoon with a cashier's check made out to a FAIR amount under MRSP ask to speak directly to the Sales Manager. I am sure he would be more than happy to help. No sitting around for hours listening to BS and whining kids. In and out.

Things change quickly! Even though no Acura concept/production debut vehicle is listed on the website right now, I don't doubt the reliability of Edmunds.com.... I certainly hope that the 2009 TSX will be there!!!

I would love to see a concept version make it's debut soon it would answer a lot of questions for fans and potential buyers. Since most publications aren't expecting it to go on sale until the fall (most likely October), that gives them enough time to gauge public reaction and make final adjustments. Let's just hope most of our prayers have been answered and the TSX (Sports4, please!!!) looks nothing like the current car.

Huh? The sales people who are members here (Colin etc) already said they got their MOVE schedule.....March production with April delivery....meaning on sale in April.

I think this just might be the closest thing to the new TSX:

I just can't tell is that's the same as the current body, though. It is a recent post. What do you guys think?
