dude, the difference between a 2.3T on the TSX and RDX is ~600lbs! no wonder the RDX gets crappy milage. anyway, i hope there is a turbo rather then the V6 on the next TSX. how about giving us a DSG acura, retain 6/4 folding seats?

on the tech side, my wish is a HDD or SSD navi w/better gfx, USB 2.0 picture/music/phonebook upload, touchscreen, much better VR, and on-the-fly route modification between destinations via multitouch or voice.

i don't care about smartkey, vent seats, DRL, headlight washers, etc. just lose some weight!

I suppose I'm sort of rare, but my number one requirement on our next car is going to be one without any rattles, squeaks, or audio "buzzing". I want a quiet, solid interior. The TSX isn't awful in this regards (no rattles now), but the buzzing from various components is obnoxious.

I used to think that an IS-350 or so would provide this, but after reading through their forums, they've got just as many complaints on rattles as we have here!! I guess Lexus isn't quite as solid as they used to be. Who else is left? Our old 530i was pretty solid, are BMWs more solid than Lexus!??

That's the one thing I'd love to have as a 2009 feature - *guaranteed* to not have rattles, squeaks, buzzing. LOL, it will never happen, but it's my number one pet peeve.

Acura has to switch to the keyless fob thing that Lexus/Toyota are implementing, such a pain to constantly fumble for the keys when my hands are full of groceries or a coffee. Personally, I kind of wish they'd offer a nice cloth material like the EX Honda's are coming with - cloth seems to wear better than leather, and I find it just as comfortable.

I got 34 mpg doing 75 on my trip from NJ to DC on Saturday and would love to see that even higher, especially around town since I'm rarely on the highway anymore.
hey Luv, you get your wish! it will start with the Acura brand, no peeing in the car - woohoo.

It's coming! See this press release at Acuranews.com Of course the 'unnamed car' might not be the TSX but it would make a lot of sense and fulfills the rumor I heard of three engines for the TSX.

Edit: [doh] I just clicked on mg7726s link.....

I'd buy one in an instant, so long as the price isn't major $$$.

That is what I was thinking you meant, and I bet your wish will come true. I bet the new grey will be a purer grey color than the blueish Carbon Grey.

Colin said 7 exterior colors and three interiors. I think I have them figured out to be black, white, silver, royal blue, red pearl, grey metallic and ??? The seventh one will probably be a lighter shade of grey or brighter blue.

Interior I am guessing Parchment, Taupe and Ebony.

We will have to wait till Colin post colors tomorrow.

How did I do Colin??

I wish I knew! I saw the color chart on Friday but essentially paid it no mind. [gasp] I'll get it tomorrow when I'm back in the office and let you know.

You rock! Did you see any pics of the wood trim, or have you heard about it? I hope the ebony interior has wood and metal trim.

If it has a Diesel, this TSX may turn out to be exactly what I'll be driving in another 9 months.

I am pretty sure the TSX will get the navi that's in the MDX right now. It is NOT touchscreen anymore but the graphics are better.

Press Conference

Acura doesnt even have a press conference scheduled for the Detroit Auto show! I would have thought they would have released at least some info on the new TSX or done something other than release a statement saying they will have diesel in 2009.

Already in the Frankfurt autoshow 2007, when Honda presented the Accord Touring concept, the TSX euroepan 2009, they announced that the next generation will get a new I-Dtec, turbo-diesel engine.
The big news is that it will be in USA too. They said that is economic, clean and very powerful at the same time (about 190-200 hp).
The engine will be the evolution of the 2.2 150 hp engine that is already sold in Europe with the Accord.
I think that the MDX needs of a big-powerful-Nm Diesel V6, and the RL maybe.

While I am excited about the introduction of the diesel engine in the States, I am very concerned that the TSX will become EVEN SLOWER than now!!! Oh dear.... I do hope that it will be some big time turbo boosted diesel engine!!! LOL

It will be 1 inch narrower and 2 inches shorter than the current TL !!! Oh no!
I don't want that big. The current size is good. (3inches shorter will be the best for me).
Not too big, not too small.

Well page 18 doesn't point to it for me (could be forum settings). However, if this is the information accompanying the spy photos from Priddy and co, I have my doubts. They are making claims there that I don't see they can deduce from just taking spy photos. For example they quote hp specs? How can you get HP specs from a spy photo?

Having said that, those dimensions would make a lot of sense, especially if the entire sedan lineup is growing. They could be taking a stab in the dark but could hit the nail on the head because its logical to think the next car will be larger than the current car and smaller than a TL. Gee how hard is that to predict!???

Well - since selling my '04 TSX ... I hoped my next TSX (now just driving an Accord) would be bigger (interior space) and have a bit more power (small V-6 or Turbo I-4) and it looks like things might be heading that way !! Another thing that would be nice to have as I had a TL for 2-years is that TL audio system .... that thing is a fantastic stock system and would be huge add to the TL's little brother

Time to get back in to the TSX fold ...

That's also consistant with what I saw at the focus group. It looked bigger/longer than the current version, with a bulkier/higher butt.

How much will this diesel kill performance? I know it has more torque but will that save it?

Hey it's probably just a coincidence, but the picture of CEO Fukui shows him standing with the i-DTEC engine in front of the TSX:

I also don't know if this means anything, but on vtec.net, Jeff says he drove two diesel TSXs - one with the old engine, one with the new one, and the one pictured on the page below with the new engine has yellow/orange in the front headlights like the USDM TSX (although it still has an H badge), unlike the one that looks JDM and has the old engine.

I just hope they let the lights extend onto the trunk lid and not just stop them abruptly (like on the USDM Accord). There is nothing I dislike more than to not see the tail lights continue.

"2009 TSX

Technology Package:
The technology package is similar to the RDX’s technology packaging and will continue to “Advance” the image of Acura. The Technology Package includes:
· Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition with new functionality
· AcuraLink Satellite Communication System
· Acura/ELS Surround Premium 10 Speaker Sound System. "

Is the ELS sound what's found on stock TL's?

Yes, this is the same system.

Dang, I so hope the new TSX is everything we hope for. I seriously hate waiting for the MMC for what they should have done from the beginning. IF the TSX features all that plus the I-DTEC as an option for around 35k I am so down to just pay off my car and get me one.

PacMan, you didn't mention the best part, for most of us who thought it wouldn't happen Acura has decided to add a V6 option to the lineup. The question I have posed is, "Which one?" A guy on vtec.net seems to have some inside information, he thinks it will be the old 3.2L but also says Acura has concerns it will be too heavy. I suppose they could just use the 3.0L that was in the last US Honda Accord (240hp naturally aspirated), then turbo charge it to keep the weight down which could put in the ranks of BMW's 335i (300hp turbo I6). Although I wouldn't mind them squeezing as much power as possible out of that engine since it will be their top model. Also what will the transmission choices be since Honda does have patents for six and seven speed automatic versions, along with everyone's favorite 6 speed manual.
