here is the reply from autolumination. So order them at your own risk.

Neither of those in blue, both are super white.

There are some variantions in super white. In general though super white means white with a blue tint.

The blue bulbs are in blue cases and are a rich royal blue color.

We can't match super white bulbs here. The variances are magnified by the lens, the viewing angle and temperatures. They don't show up in bench testing.

My suggestion is to buy a third bulb, match it to one of the two you have and then return the extra one you don't need.

If you do that, the return must be here within 45 days of the original purchase for a refund (that is a paypal / credit card rule, not ours).

Since the foot well LED are driven by the instrument brightness controller, have you tried turning up the instrument brightness?

Different subject - I just finished installing Warm White LEDs in the Map, Door and License locations. Very pleased with the outcome as the LEDs are a little brighter and a lot closer to white light verses the filament type bulbs.

As others have posted, I used 3 each, 31mm 3022 3175 6 SMD LED (Warm White) Festoon Bulbs for the Map and Rear center roof and 6 each 168 194 W5W 5 Power LED (Warm White) Wedge Bulbs for the doors and license plate. All bought from Hong Kong using ebay.

Hey Side1021, I really like the first one, the one from ebay. I think it looks great. BTW, where in ebay did you get it from? I just bought one from superbrightleds.com and I was pretty dissappointed. I am also going for IS 250 look. I was also told that the light from Lexus uses different kinds of lights. Could be true or false.

For everybody, I noticed that when I was installing the license plate light, the light faces forward instead of facing down towards the license plate. Are all cars like this?

I think the Lexus license plate lights use a cold cathode tube.

All the LEDs I bought on EBay have been very bright, and they all shine downwards. I've bought them from here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245

This particular bulb works for the interior front and rear dome lights.

I am looking at purchasing LED bulbs for my interior and I want to make sure I am ordering the right bulbs. I am going to order from Superbrightleds.com. Can someone help me out and confirm that these bulbs will fit for my 09 TSX.

For the doors:
I will be ordering WLED-x6 LED bulb Cool white wedge base bulb (194/168 type) - qty 4

For the vanity mirrors:
I will be ordering 3022-x4 Festoon bulb (30 x 10mm) -Cool White 3022-CW4 - qty 4

For the map lights and rear dome:
I will be ordering High Power 2-Led Festoon bulb - Cool White 3022-CWHP2 (30mm long) - qty 3

Will these bulbs work or will I need to order other bulbs? I am looking to have all cool white throughout the interior. Thanks in advance.

Hey sideneedle, how bright is your license plate light? (compared to Lexus) From the picture, I cant really tell cuz it seems bright outside.

Hey Side1021, sorry for the question again, but I just got to admit, the first license plate light looks amazing. Im suprised you dont like it. Did you get the 5 Power LED or the 25 Power LED? Thanks again

Here are my options for License Plate Light LEDS:
1. 1 Power from SBL: http://www.superbrightleds.com/store...s/wled-whp.jpg

2. 9 Power from SBL:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/store.../wled-whp9.jpg

3. 5 Power from Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-...5121QQtcZphoto

4. 25 Power from Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2pcs-T10-168-194...713.m153.l1262

5. Im not sure about this pricey one, does anyone have this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/2pcs-T10-168-194-PIAA-TERA-LED-6500K-White-Wedge-Bulb_W0QQitemZ200264998412QQihZ010QQcategoryZ33713 QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262

BTW, would any of these be illegal? Like I said before, Im trying to match the Lexus IS 250. The first one I got from SBL sucked. So im debating if I should go for 5 power or 9 or 25.

It's brighter than IS250 ones. Some ppl like it that way (eye catching?). I wanna be a bit low profile so I'm considering getting something a bit less bright (like the ones from autolumination i just tried).

Side1021, I put these in the Lic Plate sockets; "2pcs 168 194 W5W 5 Power LED (Warm White) Wedge Bulbs" (search on eBay with the text in quotes).

Although the description says Warm White, the light that is produced is a cool white, similar to a fluorescent Light.
Absolutely NO blue tinge, as is common with some White LEDs.

These LED are definitely brighter than the original bulbs.

Are these pictures of the 25 or 5 led refractor bulb from jp_warden on ebay? Here's the link to the ones which I think these match with. Is this correct Side1021?

Are the ones in the picture warm white or the xenon white like the ones in the ebay link?

sorry it took so long. I've been packed at school. Here they are

1st: to pop out light, look from right side

2nd: stick your thumb into the groove or use a flathead into the groove, press in and release (click)latch

3rd: this is how it looks like

4th: unhook from power source to bulb will be easier to take out. The regular bulb, you wiggle and pull out. Don't push in.

I believe it to be illegal for the Lic Plate light to be changed from white to red. You might want to check with the DOT or your local DMV.

Hey guys, I did all the LEDs in my 06 TSX except the license plates. Looks real good now. Just wanted to say one thing, and then ask a question. You guys getting 4-LEDs for the dome/map lights might not find them to be bright enough. Get the 9-LEDs, or at least 6's.

My question: How did your guy's license plate LEDs turn out to work? Did they flicker or go out on you? I heard stories about this in the context of license plate lights, but I was going to give it a shot anyway just because they're not that expensive. What kind did you use? Did you get the 194/168 wedge for plates?

I got the 194/168 1-WLED from superbrightled which didn't satisfy me enough so Im planning to order the 5-LED from ebay which Side1021 has. He said even said that one was too bright for him. I have a feeling 9LED for license plate light might be way too bright and might be illegal. Not sure on this. BTW, they also have 25LED 194/168. Anyway, the 1-WLED I got had no problem with flickering or going out. Just in case, 9LED might not fit well into the housing because they are slightly longer.

I used this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...1%7C240%3A1318

It's a little brighter than the original though.

Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know how to change out the Blue Ambient lights under the dash? I would like to make these slight stronger, much like the 09 Accord Coupe option.

I'm not big on aftermarket because of the warranty issues that come up. I think the LED's look Great though any warranty issues with using them?

I see BMW is using them on the 1er in the rear plate lights.

Sorry to ask this dumb question, but are the tail lights in the new 09 tsx using LEDs like the Infiniti G35/37? I haven't seen an 09 tsx at night, so I have no idea what they look like at night (without customization).

I just placed the order for all the LEDs except the license plate lights from eBay, I hope it was worth the $50.

I want to replace the license plate as well, but I want it to be the same brightness or less that the OEM lights, just not as yellow. I do not want to illuminate my pates more than needed and ask for more attention to the car.

I bought my bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com. You can look up your bulbs on their website they give you all the bulbs for your car and you can just use the 08 tsx cuz it has the same bulbs as the 09. Your bulb types will also be in your owner's manual.
Did you install new LED flasher unit as well or load resistors for the turn signal lights? Are the tail/brake lights as bright?

white/Blue/Red?

I was thinking all Blue or red w/white vanity?? please reply to this eager noob..
Stick to keeping it functional and practical. You are not going to see very well with a RED or BLUE dome light. I think white is your best bet.

Quick Reply: Interior lights (door, dome, vanity, etc) & license plate lights -> LED conversion
