Yep, even with a handwash, they have probably used the same MF towels and sponges over and over with other cars. Remember, their job is more-so about quantity, not quality. Although it's a little weird how they would have actually damaged your paint like that. Usually they just leave swirl marks or minor paint defects. Looks like your hit a rock or something on the way home.

i look at my car everyday (obsessively). def not from a rock chip, i don't think it would be that clean.
i don't think its from the car wash my self. they did an oil change and forgot to mention take out a nail in the rear tire i did not know about

Haha. Sorry about that man. I'm pretty anal about shit like that too. Bright side, it looks like it's at the very bottom of the door, it will be out of sight more times than not. Best you can do is have it touched up and bitch at them to give you some free oil changes.

haha nah. I meant, touchless automatic car wash. Theoretically it won't do damage to your paint, but I still prefer to wash it myself.

Still doing the fire dept gig? CSX is coming out with a cool app that provides train consists and an attached ERG. Should be rolling out this week. The full version (consist) will only be available to the fire chief and the basic one (train layout and ERG) will be available to all emergency responders.
