I tried a few leather cleaners and they don't seem to do anything.
It's all fake leather anyways isn't it?

I got one of those free sample leather cleaner/leather protectant/carpet spot remover kits from the stealership and use that. I usually ask the parts clerk for one every other oil change. After using the leather protectant the seats feel better, but look no different.

Yours looks nice though.
Didn't you recently just buff your car too? Doesn't it make it much easier to wash the car now. Black does get dirty fast though, especially if you don't use a garage.

I did the two front seats and wanted to see how different it felt from the backseat. I did it on Sunday and in 3 days so far it just feels stronger in general. Usually when I get out of the seat I notice a bunch of wrinkles appear, but I haven't seen that happen yet which is great. Especially one day when I had a friend get out of the passenger seat, two huge lines appeared. The seats were just too soft and had no support without the conditioner. I attached a picture.

How exactly do you apply it? I cleaned them with the cleaner first, then wipe them with a wet MF towel, then dry. After drying I applied the conditioner, then buff. Apply more if needed. Also work in panels on the seat and it's better to use less and apply more coats rather than a lot all in once.

Yeah I think so also, but I think it's better to try and keep it protected anyways. Can't make it worse so might as well. Like I said above, it kind of sealed up the wrinkles a bit in my seats.

Yeah I did do a full machine polish on mine and it looked fantastic for a week and made it easier to wash, but that only lasted about 2 weeks and then I guess the effects kind of wore off.

The stuff you touch is real. The stuff on the back of the seats/sides is fake.

I had some scratch X in my garage for about a year or two. I shook it the other day and it sounded like water. Squirted it in a bucket and legit looked like light colored diarrhea. Felt I should share that.

That's weird. Shouldn't it last a few months at least? I guess that depends on what you applied as a sealant/wax.

Yeah I dunno. It still looks great after it's washed since I've removed all the scratches and swirls.

I used wolfgang comound, wolfgang swirl remover, wolfgang finishing glaze and a layer of meguiars wax overtop.

Clean it up and then put tiny amounts to fill the chip. If you put too much it'll look like crap. you can also sand it with 2000 grit a little and then polish it out to make it look nicer.

True, true. I really wanted to get a polisher, but guess ill just hand wax until then. I wonder if its worth it to just get a cheap random orbital machine in the mean time. Probably is about the same, if not more effective compared to a hand wax.

Yeah dude just hand wax the shit.. It takes a lot longer but I feel it comes out better cuz you pay more attention to detail..and after spending two hours with the clay what's another couple hours right?!

Random orbital polisher = for paint correction (removing swirls/etching/scratches/etc). But it also makes waxing faster.

and if you use a harsh pad with wax to apply to your car, you will swirl and marr the surface of the newly cleaned paint, making any thing you did non-effective.
i always apply wax/sealant by hand, SO i know im not messing up my work that I just worked so hard on.

Vr1, i'm still down to visit you to help fix, just hope you didnt mess it up to the point where I cant fix it.

hell no.
NOT ALL machine polishers are made the same way. some employ different technology.

the PC2474XP is a random Orbital polisher. this ensures that it will NOT leave swirls because the polisher moves in orbit randomly.
this also ensures that it will NOT burn through your paint.

i mean, if the walmart/HD one is a RANDOM Orbital, then I assume it would do the same as the porter Cable 2474xp.
the flex 3401 is a random orbital on steroids and will burn through paint.

for a newbie, you're looking for ease of use and something that wont burn through paint.

a D3100 is like 300 dollars now.

BUTT, if i were you, I'd pick up a mirrorless cam waay before id pick up the D3100.

the Nikon D3100 is like the beginners beginners cam, very clunky and not very good. but it does teach you how to operate a DSLR.
a mirrorless cam, will have all the benefits of a DSLR without the clunkiness.

if you lived in houston, I'd loan you my D7000 for a week or two, so that you could get the hang of it

Those are some expensive cameras. I was thinking more in the $500-$700 range(includes an entry level lens). I want to get something that I won't have to replace in a year because it is too basic or for beginners.

I saw there was an off topic section for cameras on AZ so I'll probably wander around there and ask questions.

Yes, I know it's supposed to be random orbital, check my last post I specifically mentioned it. Something like this one is what I have in mind.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/BLACK-DEC...P900/202516385

Lol, I'd never pay like $400 for a buffer. I barely want to pay $100 for a PC if I get one.

Which ones did you buy?

Anyone know which tires, if you had to choose, is better from the Michelin Defender XT or Primacy MXV4? The Defender is supposed to have a 90K warranty while the MX has a 60k warranty seems like the biggest difference. They are for a 2009 Nissan Altima.
