Yeah I worked on the right side, touched up some rock chips, wetsanded the whole side and then polished it out... Still looks terrible but better than it was.

The right used used to look as bad as the left.

because you tube compresses the video.
the raw footage would be 10x* better than yourtube.

1080P really does make a difference ON THE TV.

Icrap it really DOES look good, you did make it much better, keep going and if your not satisfied get a new bumper and then get it painted professionally.. You must pay if you want it like new (100%), don't think otherwise.

 

The cheap gopro 3 is actually worse than the gopro 2.

I'll fix it as best i can but the thing is I don't like spending hundreds on cosmetic things, new bumper is like $400 + $300 at least for paint... totally not worth it. I'll DIY it as best i can.

 

Just buy the hero 3 black! It's well worth it! I love mine!

Warning: if you don't have a decent computer.. More than 8gb ram, decent graphics processor and a minimum i5 processor don't even waste your money on gopro until you have a computer that can handle the raw footage. Gopro doesn't like to advertise this detail. You'll be very frustrated to see all of your footage lagging/skipping and trying to edit the video is almost impossible.

 

I don't have the monies to buy the black. And what programs are usually used to edit video stuff? So j should get the Go Pro 2 instead of the 3? How is the 3 worse?

True. Well actually it's repairable so a shop could do a proper respray on it without needing a new bumper. I actually have an automotive spray gun but i don't know how to use it...



@VR1, yes buy a Hero 2 instead.

 

Maybe its just me but if I was paying that much I would get a new bumper too . That's just because on my car there may be a few scrapes and more imperfections than yours.

Mine would be fixable by a good shop, I dunno about yours though... mine has no scrapes really.. just endless rock chips due to a shitty paint job and 75 miles a day that I drive..
