I have a 99 3.2TL it plays regular Cd's just fine but it will not play cd-r's. i have read on here about different ones to use and i have used the memorex and the sony, i have also slowed the burn speed down to the lowest it will go. Im using windows media player to burn them. Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do? i really dont want to replace the factory head unit. any input helps.

Your SOL. Your only option is to use store bought CD's or get at the minimum a 02-03 HU. There is Nothing you can do to get that headunit to read burned CDs.

Here's a question to the problem
Has anyone tried to dissemble the CD player and cleaned the laser eye? I cleaned the eye on my DVD player in my home and it works great! Maybe the same solution to the cd reading problem could be the same? Thanx guys!
