99TL Burning CD's how to
99TL Burning CD's how to
There have been post before but I finally found out how to successfully burn CD's that will work.
I use Roxio Easy CD Creator
I burn them at 4x, which takes longer but insures that they will work
I found out that if I use the DISC-AT-ONCE setting, they play fine. I have been using Sony CD-R's.
When I used the track at once setting the CD Player in my TL would take forever to find a track/sometimes not at all. By changing the recording setting to DISC-AT-ONCE, I have CD'S that work perfectly. Just like the original recordings. Hope this might help some with this annoying problem.

As a caveat, what works for one head unit might not work for the next. There are unit to unit variations and some of the single CD units won't play CD-Rs no matter what the burning strategy.
My solution was to replace my single disc unit in my 1999 TL with the 6-disc unit used in the 02-03 TL.

That's appreciated.
The "it may not work for everyone" comment is just so that people don't get their hopes too high until they try it.
For example, some have found that a particular type of blank CD-R works great only to find that a subsequent batch of the same type won't work.
The single CD head units are really touchy.
Thanks men! ..... Good looking out cuz u just saved me some bucks for right now cuz I was planning on doing an Audio System Overhaul because the CD stuff was becoming annoying n embarassing especially when u r on a date with a pretty girl in the car if u know what I mean ...

As a caution, it could be that your next batch of the exact same CD-Rs will not work well. Others have reported that problem. So, if you have a pile of those Sony CD-Rs, you might want to reserve them for your TL.
That brand never worked for me. The only ones i could ever get to work were the Verbatium blues, and not every batch would work.

Yes this definitely did work for me. The CD player works perfectly with the burnt Sony CD-R.
