throttle position sensor

My 2000 3.2 tl is thorwing the code for the tps . i recently found a place on here that listed a company that sold tps's for the 2000 3.2 tl- i went to the site and it no longer lists it in the catalog. anyone know if this can be gotten anywhere or if one must buy a new throttle body as most sources seem to indicate., also- does the 2000 also utilize a pedal position sensor- tps i am aware of but a bit confused here .

The service manual is here: Service Manual

Before condemning the tps I would recommend pulling the connector off and inspecting the pins for any signs of corrosion. Spray them with some contact cleaner and throw some dielectric grease in there to see if that resolves the code. Chapter 11 in the SM will step you through further testing.

it was the tps itself ,, i had a mechanic , a fella a lot younger than myself install it .he was using a fairly expensive scan tool which he uses regularly at his garage and said it was telling him to set it at ,what is that setting range again?- .45-.50 i think ? anyway he said his tool was telling him to set it at .50 which is what he did .That was in the closed throttle position of course . Was he correct on this or should it have been at .45 closed throttle ? That was a month ago and so far no light has been tripped yet . With the " Blox Racing " unit now on the car , adjusting it would be easy with the replacement screws now attaching it ..Thanks for any reply ,as at this point i must admit a bit of confusion on my part as to which setting is at closed and which at open throttle .

The individual on the thread below has the following detail:

Clean off the old gasket material and install the new gasket. Then install the TPS, leaving the new bolts (allens) on loosely so you can adjust the sensor. Reconnect plug.

You'll need a ohm meter to calibrate it. Basically you turn the TPS a little bit at a time until you get the right ohm reading (.45). It says volts in the instructions but that's wrong.

actually according to the local acura dealer it is volts which the print out the dealer gave me also says , so i dunno what can i say ?-- will check both volt and ohms readings tho as i will probably reset it to .45 instead of the .50 that he set it at .. the new removable screws are now in it .Like i said-at .50 volts it hasn''t tripped a light and seems fine though .

the screws are new and removable- , Not to make a dispute as i don't know myself , but the local Acura dealer said that it was volts ,and so does the printout he gave me .I will probably reset it to .45 from the .50 that my mechanic set it at tho.And I will check both ohms and volts ..But at the .50 volts it is at now ,which his scan tool's info from the VIN number stated it should be initially set at , seems fine and hasn't tripped a code for well over a month of driving . .

Just my humble opinion, I would not alter 'paid for' work if it is not tripping a CEL.
No need to split 'voltage' hairs if there is not a reoccurring issue.
Good Luck!
