Question Rotors or wheel balancing problem

Hey guys

I just bought my 2003 TL-S two weeks ago and have noticed a vibration in the front passenger side wheel....

The vibration is slight and occurs sometimes during braking and sometimes during driving.....

Im not sure if its the notorious warped rotor or if I have a wheel balancing problem...

I did noticed that when I bought the car the passenger side tire was underinflated at the time of the sale...I dont know if that has anything to do with it...

my buddy says it could be the CV joint...is that possible???

any ideas

Try rotating the front tires to the rear and rears to the front to see if it makes it go away

If you're feeling the shake over 45 mph it's a balance/alignment issue.. but if only during braking I'm almost 100% positive that it's a tire and/or wheel issue. I'd have a local place take a look at the seal around the rim and the bead inside the tire, most shops will do it for free or cheap, and the repair itself isn't that bad either!

The easiest and quickest thing to try is to make sure the lug nuts on the front wheels are torqued to 80lbs. I would loosen the lugs, make sure the wheel is properly seated, then in a criss-cross pattern, retorque the lug nuts.

Vibebration

I bought a 03 TL-S in 8/06 it vibrates when braking @ about 50 mph. My buddy @ Discount Tire and a friends bro (tech) say vibe @ braking= warped rotors (turn the rotors). I plan on turning this weekend and i'll let you know.

This is a good suggestion.

If that one tire was underinflated, it could have developed an uneven wear pattern over time. See if the problem goes away with a rotation or if it follows the tire.

Question

Thanks for the advice guys...heres what happened.....

I took the car to the dealer and he turned the roters (I think) the problem is a little bit better but not quite right....I really think the rotors need to be replaced and the tires balanced and rotated

I am taking it back for them to fix the heated seat and the wiper motor so when I go back I definately will request the rotors be replaced and the tires balanced and rotated....

If I do replace the rotors is it okay to replace only 2 of them or should I replace all 4 of them??????

Thanks

I had a X Just Brakes employee pull the rotors. He turned the rotors for me (you could see how bad they were as they spun on the lathe). He replaced the pads and the vibration is gone. $85
