My Check Engine Light Has Been On For Like 7 Months Now. A Diagnostic Test Showed Egr Valve Then Catalyst Problem....i Changed The Valve Cleaned The Throtle Body And Now I Am Going To Change The Sensors. I Dont Think It Is My Cat Cuz My Car Doesnt Have Any Smell Coming From It. I Beleive Its Jus An Emissions Problem. ??
You need to remove the intake manifold and clean the EGR passages- changing the valve itself will not clear the crud-exhaust residue buildup in the very small passage the air moves thru.
see this DIY https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156252
Then run Seafoam thru the intake manifold and the gas to get it really clean again.
Disconnect the battery to reset the CEL by resetting the ECU Engine Control Unit- so it starts new... learning how the engine is running and testing systems function
If that doesnt clear the CEL- have the O2 sensor electrical resistance checked.
If it fails the test parameters- replace
Emission problems are serious on the TL- its Ultra Low Emission status means near zero stuff out the tailpipe. The CEL is on for a reason!!!
Got new spark plugs yet?

The egr code would point to plugged egr passages. I believe there's a d.i.y. on the procedure. Unfortunately, if you had a catalyst efficiency code it's probably the catalytic convertor. A lazy rear O2 sensor would be less likely to set that code than a new one. If the catalyst isn't plugged, you can pick up a "dummy" sensor, or a spacer to go between your sensor and the cat. I think one or more of the vendors on this site can help you.
