Question auto tranny question!!!

i have a 01 TL
when i drive it seems to shift fine and all good but when i let off the gas it seems to pull back. sort of like a 5 speed when your in a gear and let of the gas it will pull back a little. it does not do it really bad but i can feel it. is it just because of the sport tranny? or is it something else!?

what about the egr system cleaning by removing intake manifold- clogged egr really messes with the engine
thats needed every 75kmiles
whats your current miles?
original trans?

carfax only knows what its told
you need real info on trans fluid changes- often not done!! ever!!

warranty trans have blue paint on the bolt heads of things attached to trans on top, and the main bolts thru trans= cant miss them

Well im going to have to look at the bolts and the car is new to me i was gonna change the atf but a friend said flushong it would possibly mess up any thing being held together inside possibly due to build up of some sort and if i did it it would add to the issue. Also now when i go into d5 it takes a min to engage!!!

it shouldn't take a min to engage into d5. do a 3x3 drain and fill with acura oem trans fluid.

flushing with a machine would be bad- stay away from shops!!
the TL can drain and refill DIY eaiser than an engine oil change

forget your buddies, give us details and we can steer you right based on real experience.
If the trans has 100kmiles and never a fluid change- fluid is brown and smells like burnt sugar- the trans is toast and no amount of fluid is going to help

if its a replacement trans= thats better but you have severe symptoms of selenoid or somthing worse,,
get a flashing D5 light getting on freeway hard throttle?

or what happens cruising in D5 at 25 and 35 mph, stand on the gas and hold it down as it downshifts into 2nd and launches forward smoothly
or it revs and wont catch then clunks and thunks into gear

start with a fluid condition and the blue paint bolt heads
report back

do not do 3 qts 3 times = 3x3, thats not a good idea yet- need to know a few things
only half the total fluid will drain out at once, you refill and push more old fluid forward to drain, repeat,,
technically thats only to be done if you added Dextron3 to the atf, thats death fluid for our trans

My fluid looks more of a brownish clear smells like an oil not really a burnt smell at all. I cant see any blue on any bolts on tranny.

D5 never flashed that i can remember but im gonna watch for it.

I went and drove and idk it never seems to shift bad . And i just went for a ride and seems the first ride of the day or first few d5 takes no time at all to engage..

I seem to shift fine the only time it will a little hard is when i romp on it. But i neer feel a slip and im always watching the rpms!

that fluid is bad for sure,,
burnt sugar is a death sign so thats good news to not find!!
but color is supposed to be reddish,,brown means its doing its job picking up crud
and its done its job a long long time

replace the fluid with honad dw-1 and replace the external atf filter

SS mode may help it shift if it gets stubborn- ss increases line pressure and can force the engagement

register with owner.acura.com and access the free owner operation book
register with acura care 1 800 382 2238x5 and ask if all recalls are taken care of

SS mode is the left section of the shifter- allows manual control of shifting up and down

buy 4 qts honda dw-1 at honda dealer
remove filler plug on top of trans
remove drain plug on bottem rear of trans- clearly marked and uses a 3/8" breaker bar or ratchet to fit into square cutout in plug- cant miss it, even says ATF above drain!

between 3 and 3.4 qts will drain out, refill with same amount- MEASURE removed fluid!
low or high fluid level messes up the trans

drive and see how it does before trying a full capacity changeout right now,
thats the 3x3= 3 qts 3 times, and is for a special reason

yeah thats the standard notice-
recall= oil jet kit installed = fixed
and `open` on the extended warranty means `In vin range`,,but of course over the 7 year 9 months limit so tough luck now
