Two throttle bodies on type s

I have on 01 cl type s and it has 2 throttle bodies. From what I have read on this site one is for the vsa. Can I take that one off and just run on the one throttle body?

I understand the 02 and 03 models only have one. I want to install a bored throttle body to go with the manifold I want to port if I can ever find a shop to do it.

Any advise would be most appreciated...

02-03 tl-s had 2 as well. Only type s motor in the 2nd gen tl/cl that didnt was the cl-s 6 speed. It didnt have vsa. Those that have removed it have kept it hooked up but ziptied it out of the way. You cant just unplug it and remove it or it will throw a cel. Remeber your vsa wont work properly either way

Thanks...then I assume there is no point in boring out the main throttle body if I don't do the vsa Tbody as well?

No problem....im going to do this soon as well......the one thing that bothers me about it is you still will need to push the button to turn it off or you will supposedly stall.....im going to look into possibly finding a way to wire it so when you start the car the vsa will be off and if you push the button it will be on....has anyone attempted this or any kind of info out there on if its possible?

My guess is there is a relay. If it was wired differently at the relay and switch it would default off till you pushed the switch. Im not near my manual to look but im sure its possible.

I would like to clarify..by performing this procedure you can remove the VSA TB from the engine bay?

Yes.. But Why is the Main Question?
Just Turn Off VSA when you wanna go CRAZY! dont lose one of the (+ Things) of the Type-S Safety Devices.

Where did you read this? "Em Dot" in the previous linked removed the VSA TB without any issues. At least he didn't specify in the thread.

For people who get a 6spd, VSA doesn't work anyway. Therefore it's just a useless extra TB.

Hmm... I see, thanks for the info.

From what I understand, the problem is the VSA ECU interfering with everything. If you have a TL-P then I'm guessing it won't be a problem, as they don't have VSA in the first place. Guess that's for a different thread though.

I guess a simple modification could keep the VSA off at startup, if the wiring isn't unnecessarily complicated. Then you could just remove the VSA bulb, and no problems.

CL-S 6-Spd OEM Doesnt Have VSA Anyway BC they have Nice LSD.

But he Doesnt have a 6Spdo if he has he could not have VSA in the First Place and Since he doesnt Mention a 6Spdo swap he just want to Delete it.

I dont see any benefits doing this... VSA have kick in for me in the Right Moments (Pouring Rain) more than Twice...

It's pretty much pointless to modify the TB unless you remove the VSA TB. By porting it out, or getting a bigger one, you can get much more air pumping through the engine.

Please do...I have looked into getting them both bored as I don't want a useless T body hanging on the side of my pristine powerplant. I am not wild about having to push a button to disengage it every time I start the car also.

Thanks for the help with this stuff guys.......

So it seems to me that in order to have the vsa off when the car is started you will need to find a relay that is hot only when started and wire it to the wire on the switch so when you turn on the car the switch will get the signal thinking you basically pushed it, i am not certain but do think it will work...i just need to find some diagrams. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated...im determined to figure this out
