My machine is has 80 feet of travel in X and about 18feet in Y. I really don't have the tooling and fixtures in my facility to do much. For small stuff I go to the tool room where we make our fixtures and things like that. I'm gonna start goin up there more often to use their smaller machines.

Damn thats awesome! I work in a machine shop also, but our mill only has 4x3 feet of travel, and our lathe is tiny. Yeah, what do you guys make?

We make mining shovels. My machine is actually small compared to some of the others we have here.

With welding, machining, and assembly it's usually about 6-8 months total from start to first dig.

Should I open up my upper manifold too?? I see its a bit smaller than the gasket.

I have an extra one I bought. It's not a type S but its nice looking. Got it for cheap so porting it isn't a problem.

Got all the crank bearings. All come out to 0.0011. Crank fits (with a small amount of machining to the block and #4 bearing cap (2nd pic)



Had to machine this lip to get the crank to fit. Took all of 30 min or so to do.
