Unhappy Me gots a scratch

I've had the car 2 days and noticed a deep 1 1/2 inch scratch on my roof. Took it to the dealer, they said it needs to be repainted. Appointment for next monday. They were really cool about it and agreed it should be fixed right away, I just wish it wasn't there to begin with. It will look good as new when its repainted, right? I will go nuts if it doesn't match the rest of the car perfectly.

They also agreed to buff out the few little scratches I found and install the new teflon anti squeak tape for the sun roof. So far their customer service is pretty good.

that sucks.

how long have you had your car?

When buying a new car, you should immediately put a scratch on it so you start with a scratched car. This saves the heartache when you notice the next one. j/k of course!

I didn't have to do this on my car though, the Valet parking at Morton's took car of it by parking a bmw under my bumper and taking a small chip off it.

Good luck!

It shouldn't be a problem after they re-painted. But don't forget to inspect it cautiously when you pick it up and make sure you go there during the day time where visibility is not a problem. Good luck! By the way, which dealer did you pick up your new ride?

Hey Avatar, which Acura dealer did you go to?
Does every Acura dealer have that new teflon anti-squeak tape for the sunroof? Because my sunroof squeaks also and it's annoying.

Let me know, thanks!

I've had the car 2 days.

Got it from Springfield, NJ. The car was stored offsite so I didn't get to see it until I went to pick it up. It was starting to get dark, and it was freezing cold. I did an inspection but somehow didn't notice it until I was inspecting it for microscopic contaminants at home. Kinda pissed I gotta go though this, but as long as it looks new and you cant tell its been painted. So far i'm pleased with the dealership because they didn't give me a hassel for any of my complaints and the sales guy sent me a card. Nice to see they don't forget about you the minute they make a sale.

For all you know, they probably the one who scratched your paint while they working on your roof. Then again, I could be wrong!

I agree, but what can I do. As long as they are willing to correct their mistakes and make it look like new without giving me a hard time. I can't be totally pissed at them for making a mistake, its how they act to resolve it thats important.

Oh yea, and now I have a scratch on my head light probably from a pebble or somethin. I can see this aint gunna be easy, living though the scratch period. My old car stopped getting noticable scratches after 2 years. I guess it developed a hard shell.

I just saw some material that is supposed to cover the headlights and protect them from rocks and stuff. It's like some plastic film that they claim you won't even know that it's there. Might give them a try since those lights look real expensive to replace. thought the stuff was like $45.
