Intro and Q's.

Been trolling the forum for some time now, finally picked up a Gold 2000 non-nav w/ 94k about a month ago.

After spending some time with the car and reading as much as I could I figured I'd finally ask some questions. I did search each question but would appreciate tailored responses to my specific situation.

1.Bandaides? The Blitzsafe etc./mp3 integration kits. Are they worth it in the long run. My goal is to eventually integrate a dd pioneer avic nav unit into the car. Will I be happy with the factory integration for maybe 6 months until I purchase the nav or just stick with CD's and FM for now?

2.Has anyone integrated a pioneer h/u to support the full bose system (i.e. including sub). Will the h/u's controls/functions operate the sub similarly to an aftermarket sub/amp combo? More specifically the low pass filter and level control from the h/u? Is this worth the hassle or just go aftermarket?

3.Being that I just purchased the vehicle, is there any way I can find out if the trans was ever replaced under warranty? Or if I would be able to receive dealer service records on the vehicle? I registered with myacura, with VIN, and there was no history.

4.If it turns out I can't receive service records, is it the general consensus to flush the trans fluid and replace the filter given that the history of this service is unknown or will it be detrimental due to the mileage? I've seen some conflicting information in my due diligence on this topic.

5.I was also told by the dealership I purchased the vehicle from that the 105k service was already performed (timing belt/h20 pump etc.). If the records for the service were not attainable, would it be naive of me to believe this? That being said, I have a 90-day drivetrain warranty with the option to purchase an extended warranty before the end of the 90 days.

Sorry for the lengthy introduction and inquisition. Thanks in advance for any help!

who at the dealer said it had the 105 done...sales??

if it was a local car the dealer may have serviced it normally and can look up the VIN and tell you whats been done
Nothing really to do but oil changes and look at everything for wear until 105 anyway

call 1-800-382-2238 x5 register as new owner and ask for recall check and warranty history- they can say for sure if trans was replaced and when- its Acura Care center
Your account on acura.com has a recall section- should say Open or Fixed or something with the trans section--what is that?

The visual check is look under the front driver side of the car at the transmission bolts
If painted BLUE you have a rebuilt unit from acura

800 is just phone answering people
They dont have any service history- just recall and warranty work
Only the servicing shop would know when the car had things done

Expect to change the PS fluid and a few other things- cabin air filter etc to make the car perfect

One of the owners told me about the service. It was a local car with two owners; First leased, then purchased used, now traded and purchased by me. Thanks for the info on the visual check. I'll check it out this weekend.

I'll likely do the cabin filter as the weather warms up. Thanks.

If it was local they have the service records in the computer- just go make friends with the Service MANAGER
Sounds like they know for fact it was done-probably by them,
that being a $1000 sales point!
