I've been wanting to debag my TL for a while but i dont want to scratch the trunk...whats are some good ways to debag with no harm...

I dont wanna take off the "A" because i know its nailed to the trunk but i do wanna take off the "ACURA" and the "3.2TL".

Thanks mates.

you mean debadge?
Depending where you are, you'll need to heat the badges with a hairdryer for a few minutes to get the glue to soften, then use a fishing line and floss the badge off. I don't like using floss because it keeps breaking on me, Fishing line will cut the glue like a cheese wire. Then use some goo gone and scrape the glue off with a towel...polish spots and ta da! Your done!!

Fishing line is not needed......i did it without it. Just heat up the badges with a hair dryer and you can take them right off......use some googone to remove the rest of the glue.

Hot water and be slow you can't goof it up unless you use something to pry it up (screwdriver). The fishing line adice will work but don't feel you have to go out and buy a spool of fishing line for 6 inches.

I reccomend rubbing the extra tape (sticky double sided tape left on the car after the badge comes off) with your finger. rub back and forth and it will clean up beautifully with just your finger.

I would heat it or let it sit in the sun.

I don't use a screw driver or anything else to pry it, you'll just ruine the paint.

Fishing line works but make sure you get a thin line.

I recommend floss even tho it has a habit of breaking because ....
1) You probably have some at home already.
2) Would you like to floss your teeth with a fishing line? It would be gentler on the paint.

If you are going to debadge the A C U R A. It will be hard to align back later but you can always buy a new set for 30-40 dollars.

If the tape under is still sticking, use goof off or goo gone. Don't use anything else that might hurt the paint.

I just debadged the 3.2 TL since I personally think it looks too empty without the ACURA. I just needed balance in the rear.

The way I did it was .. I didnt even heat it up. I just used waxed dental floss for about $2.00 and took the badges away. Then i used the hair dryer to soften up the glue left on the trunk and at the same time I rubbed it with my fingers and it came off, i didnt have to use any goo gone or ne thing. After removing all the badged this way, I just used some Wax, just for my satisfaction.

I do however like the look that HZM has with the A C U R A on it, and Im thinking of going back that way, cuz it looks more classy. And use the waxed dental floss, cuz it wont break as easily on you. I think through out the whole debadge process the thing only snapped once on me. Its very easy and i was done in 15mts. Good Luck!!

1. Drive into a wall
2. Let air bags deploy
3. Use scissors to debag

i used one of long razors from those cheap colored
razor knives..

with the thumb slider..they're like 99 cents.

go slow.

then the glue on mine was impossible.

i used this citus cleaner that used to clean my mtn bike..

wiped right off..
some wax...

and it came out beautiful.

Alright people, thanks a lot, you are all wonderfull..i've decided to debadge only the 3.2TL just to balance since i think removing the ACURA leaves an empty space...
