I can't clean the engine bay, it's sitting in th garage, i'll make a bigger mess than I already did if I do.. I'll just leave the bay the way it is.. I never keep the hood open to show it off to people anyway.

Yes, that makes sense.

But I suppose you could do some localized cleaning in some of the "hard to reach" spots before the you install the engine.

So you're gona pay to get it done? Man you should save money and just find your nearest parking garage and get started!

I don't know if it will fit. I know someone with a 07' 3rd gen that had to bring the car in to replace the tranny after 3K miles Hopefully the MT tranny doesn't have that problem?

lol, thanks for the compliments... The thing is, when you have no money, you really don't have a choice where to do the project.. hence, the parking garage. LOL

Hey Mario, I took a look at the cart... turns out.. I can return it after doing the conversion. LOL

Check it out.. NO SCRATCHES!!!! good shit for only $69. And the straps look good as well. There goes $89 back into my pocket! hahahaha

I'll be returning the hoist too... so make that $243 all together.

What? Are you just going to leave your old motor in the corner and collect dust or become an expensive door stop???

It's for sale in the Black Market forum.

There aren't too many used engines that include photos of it being removed!

Good job, thus far. I spent a good amount of time reading through this thread. I must admit, I'm very impressed. Good luck with the remainder of the project. If I were down that way, I'd help if I could. I bet it really, really sucks not having transportation... Especially knowing that it's your own fault for not having said transportation.

Hey Kris...when you received your motor, did the water pump, ac compressor, alternator, etc come with the engine also or did you have to remove those from the old engine onto the new? I posted up my engine on ebay and there people willing to pay a good amount of money for it. (at least $975) the thing is, I'm not sure if the newer motor comes with them or not. If it doesn't, I'll just transfer everything from the old to the new

Also remember NOT to install the motor till you swap the crank sensor (lower crank cam pulley) and the TDC sensors cam pulley and back plate). It will be ALOT easier to do out of the car. Now would also be a great time to install a new belt (whether or not it needs it or not)

Well... ordered my mounts along with a few other sensors + covers for the conversion..

Starting to worry about the coilovers I bought from Nitrous over a week ago... I figured they'd be here in the mail already since it's been shipped within the state. Left a message on his phone asking for the tracking number... we'll see what happens

Picking up my Teins tonight..

Alright, I got my engine.. I must say... driving around in a uhaul was definitely a nice experience. I mean, hey... it found it funny to be honking at the ladies and revving my engine. I raced a Porsche... and killed it! .. seriously. Yeah.. that's right... me and my friend were in the uhaul, waiting at a light, saw this lowered boxster pull up next to me.. i revved my engine, told him I wanted to race... So he agreed.. laughing at the same time. So, right before the light turned green, I was like: (points at a pedestrian) "hey look!!! That girl's boobs popped out!" He turns, light turns green.. and instantly pulled 3 car lengths ahead of him. It was beautiful Soon after catching up, he gave me the finger and drove off... what a sore loser lol

Hey Kris, can I reuse the same bolts that hold the 4MT to the engine for the 6MT? If so, I want to save myself a lot by reusing some bolts I may already have.

^Typical porsche driver. You'd think they could just laugh about things like that, but no they have to uber serious and flick ya' off everytime. Either that or they drive in the left lane on the turnpike doing 60.

Hey Joe, good luck with everything! I would love to eventually see your car in person some time if I ever go head down that way or if ya ever happen to find yourself at a meet up here sometime.

You bum.. I tried calling you, no service on your end.. dunno where you were anyway. lol but yeah, I got the engine. I'll just be moving everything from teh compressor, water pump, etc. on to the new engine. Then comes the clutch pack, transmission, mounts, sensors, and engine harness.. and then.. I'll finally be able to put the thing in. I'm trying to make everything as easy as possible. lol

With the way I am, I wouldn't be surprised ending at a meet in PA.. I randomly drive on impulse...ended up in boston, west virginia, maryland, SC, NC, Georgia, and now i'm down here in FL. Thinking of showing up randomly in california after the conversion's done. lol

So maybe, if there's a mega meet out there, i'll make a guest appearance and win the award for the farthest AZ member to attend LOL

Sure it may be fun and challenging... But I'm just scared i'll get stuck somewhere... To make it worse, i've been doing everything without the helms manual so far. Can't afford to buy it... so anything down the road from here's a guessing game.
