the better thing to do is to see if anyone has a garage that u can borrow that lives in the area u are... i mean borrowing a truck from someone and a uhaul thing to tow your car would also work to tow the car

Joe, at your university, you dont have a tech class? Maybe if u can ask the teachers there or something if u can work on the car and leave it there. But then again, a suggestion

Just a quick question, I know the 04+ 6MTs have LSD, but does the 03 tranny have a LSD also? That would be sweet! They're the same tranny IIRC, but I could be wrong.

Yes guys! That's right, I'm resuming the project! Here's what happened.. while walking to work (an hour long walk without transportation), I called up the head of security. And.. said the following:
"You know what? Since you're head of campus security, I have a few words to say to you... First off, I don't have the time and patience to think of setting an appointment with, so I'm calling instead. I pay 24 grand to come to a school and use all of its resources available.. it's LUDICRIOUS to NOT be able to work on MY own car in the parking garage that YOU provide to me. Yes, I PAY you to provide me services for my car. One of your security guards flat out insulted me the other night, let alone told me I can't even continue working on my car; and yet the guard told me that I have to MOVE the car that's completely disabled where even the tow truck cannot move it. And I will NOT move my car, any damages to it would be held liable towards you. I've never had any problems with security before while i've worked on my car; they've even visited to say hi and see if everything was okay. Only this one asshole decided to give me a hard time. (Then I described the security dude doing the midnight shift)"...
So... soon after, the campus security head explained the liability issue which i'd care less about, and agreed to let me continue with the project as long as I don't do anymore "big projects" again... He's sure got another thing comin'
Oh, I have full support from everyone else on campus. The women offerto give me rides to the auto store and back, and chill there watching me fix the car.. kinda cool actually 
There are tech classes here, but they're not for automobile engineering from what i've seen.. but then again, I wouldn't know since I didn't get into the higher core classes yet. I wouldn't know for another semester. 
He's probably my long lost unwanted brother.. I wouldn't know. lol Hey, dude, you should pass by to check out the conversion, it's crazy to see this thing in pieces.
I'm still adjusting to tampa's surroundings; I don't really know anyone that lives off campus since everyone's moving around (room changes)

Sweet! Alright.. every thing's back on schedule... Tonight, I'll be removing some more parts from the engine bay. Hopefully my Tiens come this week so I can install them at the same time. The mega meet's a month away, and I'm almost half way through the project. 
Hey Kris, the cruise control, will I be needing that at all now that I have the 6MT in place of the 4AT?
Also... called 56+ salvage yards across the east coast, NO ONE has any gauge clusters for the '03 6MT. I'll be checking on ebay to see if i get at least something.

As for the engine hoist, it should be able to lift it out of the back of the Uhaul (just get the smallest uhaul available. (of course my hoist has a extendable arm so mine can really lift high.

dang joe... u get everything done quickly.. some people take about a week or two until they can solve a problem like this.. good job =D
My question is this.... since I'll be a new 6MT driver, I'll be practicing driving as I go... so, is it difficult to learn?.. Will I destroy my clutch? ... Just wondering.

Learning to drive a manual transmission is not difficult. But it's best to start on an older car since you might beat up the clutch a bit. I learned on a friend's old VW Beetle and he didn't mind the occasional hard shifts and engine stalls.
It's best to start in a open parking lot until you get a handle on the basics. And stay off steep hills until you're fairly proficient. There's nothing quite like trying to get your car in gear on a steep hill with another car right on your bumper. :-)

when i wanted to learn stick way back when, i just bought a ford festiva for 400 bucks. best 400 bucks i ever spent. that thing was hilarious and i beat the piss out of that thing. kept it for a year too cuz it was so funny.

Just got back from visiting Joe, I wish I could have stayed longer but I was on my way home from my CFA meeting/dinner, so I was in my suit and had to come home to do my paper. Well I was helping him loosen a bolt on the control are so he can take the axle out but the bolt was not even moving.

wat u need to remove axle for?
btw, whenn me and friends was working on my drop. we removed cotter pin from a castlelated nut,( A and B in picture) ive been driving with it off bout month now. and seems to be in same threading area on bolt. question is. is it imminent to replace it back on? and exactly wat type of material, looks to jst be a cres. maybe just brass even.

The cotter pin is there for a reason, safety, both yours and the people around you who might be hurt should that nut back off. Go to an auto store or a hardware store and buy a cotter pin.

Ah so your trying to remove the radius rod bolts. Those babies are on there tight! Im not sure you need to remove those. Since your pulling every thing up thru the top you dont need to drop the front sub frame. Id leave all that inplace.

You shouldn't need to remove that to get teh axle off. Once you separate the knuckle from the lower control arm you will have all the movement you need to get the axle out of the knuckle

Dnd, remember the WD-40 we were looking for?.. Right after I took this picture, I noticed the can hiding behind the lcd monitor. LOL

A box wrench will work better. But its not necessary to remove them to remove the axle
