Uh, what exactly is a $10.00 "other" part?

Dunno, never really looked too close. I could only assume that is there to cover for misc bolts/nuts/washers that might be damaged?

Headlights stolen.

The cables were cut. I'm still not sure were the OEM ballasts go.

This is the right rear roofline.

This is where they connected the new body to the old.

More unibody pictures.

This is a picture of the subframe where the welds go to connect the new rear body panel to the rest of the car.

Rear trunk with the lid open.

More pictures of factory welding points inside our trunk. Notice the braces.

Rear seat backs.

Closer view of the braces that prevents our rear seats from folding down.

The entire rear suspention.

Look at the red circle. That's the endlinks to the sway bars. All rumors of the brackets failing due to the Neuspeed race bar should be closed. If anything, the plastic endlink will break first ($25~$45 to replace).

A closer look at the rear sways

Red circle shows the sticker warning of OFF ROAD use only.
Yellow circle shows what would fail first if you exceed the limits of the sway bars.

ooooh...alot of progress!!! I don't like how they welded the new pieces together. it is too noticeable. i think they shouldv'e put on the body parts...then painted it to cover the welds. hehe.....did you take anymore pics? i wanna see more! oh yeah...the ballasts to our HID's actually sit RIGHT under the headlamps. just to let you know.

Keep in mind the welding is not complete. They still have to repaint over it, then put the body panels, then paint it again. I did take more pics, but I think they're not as significant as these. I'll continue to take more picks later since one of the main reasons why I bought an affordable digicam in the first place is to share my progress to you all. It just frustrates me when trolls post useless comments on how $hitty my freakin camera is and totally miss the point. But thanks for the heads up on the location of the ballasts. I take it from my picture the thieves took them too eh?

Oh....I see....nevermind then. I stand corrected. haha..yeah, i rather see pics of your lady... :p

It does appear those punks also took your ballast with your headlights. I can't believe they we're able to walk off with a pair of huge headlights without any of the workers seeing.

Hey Henry....the car looks reallll weird with any of the body part cut off.. I have a picture of a 00 Gold TL that had a front end collision. and the body shop cut everything up to the firewall. :wow: They took out the engine of course. it looks....crazy! If you want...I would post the pic.

Had similar damage to my '99 3.2TL. I was broadsided by an Explorer and that was a $10K repair jobto the Acura. Had to replace the right rear door and replace and weld in the new right rear quarter plus A LOT of other stuff. Tore out the whole interior, etc. I loved the car but promised myself that as soon as I got it back and the paint/repair smell was gone I was gonna get rid of it.

Got the car back after five weeks worth of repair on a Wednesday, I went shopping for a new car on that Friday and bought the new '02 TLS on that Saturday. Three days after I had gotten back the repaired '99TL done deal and goodbye. Got a fantastic trade-in price because the '99TL looked and drove great and I literally paid a minimal difference to move into a four year newer car that was the model ABOVE the base TL.

I did not want to worry about any problems with the repaired car. With the extent of damage done to my car, and yours, I would get out of that thing as fast as I could. Find your best trade-in deal and move on. Of course if it''s a lease well . . . . . . . . .

Damn Ed- as a fellow ABP owner it was hard to stomach some of those pictures!
Based on all that damage, it looks like somone was watching over you that day. It's still probably hard as hell to deal with, but hang in there.
Most impotant thing is that no one was hurt. A life cant be replaced, but a car can.

Thanks for all the support guys. The reason why the thread topic was named that way was because I seriously thought the car was totalled, so I didn't think I'd be hanging around any longer. A month later I found out the insurance is going to fix it so I guess I'm staying for good.

How long will it take to complete the repairs, ed? Looks pretty extensive. Thanks for the pix.
Got mine back a few weeks ago (total time lost: 22 days) and I've already put another 1000 miles on it..no problems except a little more wind noise from the driver's side front. Looks beautiful (see below)

Glad you're staying.

You got into an accident as well? how bad was the damage? oh yeah..you can always try to take it to the dealer and see if they can tighten the driver side door. just ask them to do it..don't tell them anything.
