Leaving it at the dealer overnight does nothing. They insist on not being able to duplicate the problem or it being normal. Not sure how they don't hear it, and it's certainly not normal.
Should you find out anything, please let me know. I've given up ever being able to solve it and I'm getting rid of this POS ASAP. I've never had a car with so many perplexing problems that no one can fix.

Not that I don't appreciate your suggestion, because I do, but I've tried EVERYTHING. Speaking of the compressor, it also makes a very nasty engagement "crunch" seconds after start up if the A/C is on. Add that to the ever growing list of things about this TL that piss me off.
This is a distinct "CLUNK" that occurs right as the engine comes to life - not seconds later, when the compressor kicks in if the climate control is on. This sounds like the engine hitting something as it jumps when it starts, but replacing motor mounts haven't fixed it and two dealers can't find the problem and tell me there's nothing wrong.

Also, there's more to the mount system than the mounts themselves. There's the vacuum lines, a solenoid, and probably more. Any part of it could be bad.
