Post To BlackShadow and all

Well, I just bought a TL last weekend. Enjoyed it very much.

Happened to see BlackShadow's post and read the thread and even followed onto the Lex's forum. I have to admit that am a bit concerned...

I bought this car for its "value-for-the-money". And intend for my wife's usage mostly (after I get over that "new" car feeling). Wish not to see the car become a race target on the highway or off-the-road. - Hope it's just me that got preoccupied.

Peace!

Unfortunately, everyone wants to prove that "their car is faster"...if people see that you are speeding, they will want to race your TL (especially the TL-S)because they feel that they are now "better" (especially if they have a lower priced vehicle

Especially if your car is modded so you don't have to worry.
I swear, every car pulls up next to me wanting to race because I have a hooked up TL. So if people instigate, then just ignore them.

When I'm driving the TL or my Mustang, it seems like every fool wants to race. Sometimes it's fun to see the look on their face when a 4 door sedan burns 'em. Most of the time though, you're better off ignoring them. Not worth the ticket or worse, an accident.

I was driving home tonight and an IS300 pulled slightly behind me in the next lane. I just put my rims on and I was doing 70 so after he checks me out he decides to gun it. I downshifted and caught up but just paced him. I matched every move he made and kept up till about 105, then I just chuckled and let him go weave in and out of traffic like a moron. Let him get a ticket. I got nothing to prove. We know TL's rule.

The man's got a point. If you don't want to be raced... then just ignore the instigators.

Too risky anyway. I wrecked my 2000 GS-R in April because of racing. It was not me fault but nobody can get my car back now after all of the money I had in it.

I love going fast...but I don't wanna risk my life or destroy my TL or even get a speeding ticket.

If you wanna race, go to the track...seriously and race some real competition, not some punk kid with his mother's IS300.

at the light, I just gun whoever wants to race me, and stop accelerating when I hit 10 over speed limit... normally I go up to 60 and then stop.

Ya I know.. I definitely have limits...I wouldn't race if it will potentially injure, kill or cause any harm to anyone..
