As son as i conect the battery the horn goes off. the head lights and back up lights work, gauges work, fuel gauge doesnt go up when key is in, temp shows 113. car cranks and fuel pump charges up. Im making progress. Need to sit down with the manual and figure out the wiring.

Yeah, well you got me beat... I'm more of a "let visa and mastercard pay someone else to do it, and then I'll pay visa and mastercard back 10 years later!"

Kris have you managed to get most of the inside of the car put back together? If so, take some pics! My dumb ass probably missed it, but I'm dying to see a stick shift with a boot on it in a TL.... cant wait!

..another thing too.. I think you should mow your lawn in the other direction... like.. from the left to the right... not from the street to the house... would look better imo

Yep still on winters. I need to order new summer tires yet. No need to order brand spankin new F1 GS-D3's and have them just sitting there.

I mow it that way every other mow. and some times i do it at a 45 deg angle also. I like to mix it up!

hey kris, gotta a question for you (as if you havent got enough)

youve inspired me to possibly attempt this project...i have the know-how, the facilities, and the stupidity lol.. anyway, i was wondering if you could possibly come up with a detailed list of parts you needed for the tranny conversion, and if it is possible to bolt the manual tranny to the tl-p motor. im not doing the type s swap, too much money, just wanna do the tranny swap. lemme know

niko

the tranny will bolt up, but i dont know how your going to get the engine to run right. The engine ecu controls the tranny also and with out the auto tranny hooked up it wont run right. You will have to do some wiring trickery.

When the project is done ill make a list of the parts i bought. (most of whiche were to make it easier for my install)

the engine ecu controls the tranny too? i thought there was a separate control module for the tranny. when you visit acura, find out if its possible to reprogram just the tranny software on the ecu, you know what i mean? either way, keep me posted, i might go through with this pending how you make out.

thanks man,
niko

Yes 1 ecu, and No they cant reprogram it (from what ive been told and read) people on the accord forum. some have found ways of tricking the ecu but i didnt want to waste my time doing that. the whole engine swap was easier and faster for me(time wise cheaper too) plus with 200k on the motor i wasnt complaining about getting a low mileage motor with more HP

If you want to do the swap, I would highly suggest getting either the complete type s swap so you can use their ecu or you can run a stand alone ecu which would be an extra 1300-2200, not including the extra time wiring it up, etc. If you did the complete swap it would make things a lot easier(meaning engine, transmission, harnesses, etc like kris did).

Agreed. (unless you are a electrical guru) and can get the exact wiring diagrams for the car)

Well i conected the battery today again to test out someo more things. I now have all the gauges working. My drivers side window always has power the passenger side window works the way it should, the rears dont work at all (kinda figured that) the power locks work, the keyless entry works, the seats dont (but thats a simple rewire to get power to them) Now i just need to figure out the windows and rewire the stereo and hope that the engine starts tommorow
