Okay, so my father has a 2003 tl and I really like it. So today, I went car shopping and I was focused on finding a 2nd Gen tl type S.
I found a 2002, with 76,600 miles and the guy is asking 9,400.

However, I am pretty sure that it needs at least one motor mount replaced, the rear bumper has a few nicks and paint chips, the interior isn't in perfect condition, maybe a 6.5 out of 10.

My questions to you are the following:
-How much does a motor mount go for?
-The little storage drawer in the dash is missing, where can I pick one up from?
-The old owner must have had a radar detector, or some dash mount gps device, whereas the velcro is still stuck to the dash, what can I use to take it off without damaging the dash?
-I would give the car a overall 7. Is this a good price to pay for this?

storage drawer id say your dealer or acuraoemparts.com or oemacuraparts.com are the cheapest

no idea on the velcro id say hot rag with dental floss like your debaging then some goo gone..

has the tranny been replaced? thats a big factor. but with 76k your covered until 109k by honda of america

 

That sounds like a good price offer the guy 9 and take the car! But if he doesnt negotiate
then still a good price.

Dental floss and goo gon will work great taking that Velcro off

 

fwiw, I just picked a a '02 tl-s with navi for $6K. It does have 135k miles, but its been taken care of by a dealer and is probably a 9.5 out of ten cosmetically.

yea make sure to test the tranny. i dont think the powertrain warranty holds past 7 yrs and if you have a 2002, that 7 years is probably passed.

i found my 2003 tl-s with 67k miles last summer for 11k, and it was only in decent condition as well

I bought a 03 tls in March with 74,000+ for 8990 from an Acura dealer in good condition.. i would keep lookin...autotrader.com, cars.com..

 

Offer something less than 9K- cite the issues you've found & that you will have to come up with more $ for the repairs, etc. * bargaining chips *

 

offer 8 -I think that is way overpriced for the condition. If he says no,just walk away...there is always another one out there...just look in the black market..

 

The thing is, I need it to be local....And I REALLY want the black interior to go with the S type style, and that has been rather hard to find around here.
