I am looking at getting a 2002 3.2TL-S, but I have one question. My parents have a 2001 Infiniti QX4 and the regular headlights are xenon with a blue color. When you first turn them on they act like flourescent lights (they do that little flicker when they first warm up). The question I have is does the 2002 3.2TL-S have the same type of headlights? If not...what are they like then (blue, white, yellow, etc)? Also...what color are the high beams and the driving lights? Is there any way to make them the blue xenon as well? I don't know anything about headlights...more-the-less lights at all. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. Thank for reading and any help it greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Cheers!

The TL comes with HID lights which have a blue hue to it. There is also a flicker when you turn the lights on. The high beams as well as the fog are regular halogen lights which shine a yellowish. The fogs can easily be replaced with Eaglite bulbs from midnightmoose.com. It's not exact but pretty darn close. As for the highbeams, I don't use them that often, if at all so I don't worry about it.

The Sylvania Silverstars are a pretty close match. But the closest match overall are the PIAA Plasma bulbs. Even though they are not as bright as HID's, they do match the color output very closely.
Now am I just looking for a bulb or do I need to get a complete conversion kit like this one:

Also...I have been reading some other posts and have noticed that most people like the KOBA brand the best. They say it is just as good and close to HID as the PIAA and last longer. Is this true? Finally...the headlights look blue then you are riding toward them. Does this mean that the light it is emmitting is blue or just that the reflection of it is blue? I read earlier that the light is a bright white, but the reflection is blue. Thanks for your help. Cheers!

the light really isnt blue the light out put is 4200k which is close to natural daylight, i.e. the light is pure white but appears blue. looking out you dont see blue every thing looks white. to replace fog bulbs and high beams you dont need conversion kits UNLESS you are buying HID's for them. standard halogens (piaa, sylviania, raybrig) all are plug and play halogens
So...what exactly are the low-beam headlights? Xenon or HID? Here is exactly what I want to do. I want both the high-beams and fog lights to be same same as the low-beam headlights. I don't care if it is HID or Xenon just as long as they are all the same. I want the fog lights to be exactly the same as the low-beam headlights (as if I took the bulb from the low beams and but it in the fog lights). Then I want the high-beams to be the same as the low-beams just twice as bright or so. What I would like to eventually do is have a low and high beam for both the headlights and the fog lights (so it looks like I have two sets of headlights...just one is smaller in size and faced at the road rather than on coming vechicles). If you have suggestions on what brand to get or anything at all please let me know. I would like to do this within the next two months if possible. Thanks for viewing. Cheers!

I have spent all afternoon reading up and searching for Xenon/HID conversion kits. I don't really understand how the conversion kits work. Do you just mount the HID bracket and bulb inside of the headlight housing that is already on there? How would you do something like that?! If I am wrong please correct me. Why can't you just take a HID bulb and stick in the regular high-beam socket? I don't fully understand how HID work compared to the normal Halogen. If somebody could explain to me I think it would be of great help. Also...is there a specific HID conversion kit brand that works best with a 2002 3.2TL-S or does the kit not really matter as long as you have the right bulb? Thanks for reading and any help you may give. Cheers!

the 1999-and up TLs all have HIDs for low beams. you don't need any conversion kit. xenon is just the gas inside the HID bulb.
