stupid question about bulb sizing

what is the bulb size for that.....?

I'm thinking about converting the running light to white LED or HID. A link to where I can buy
the bulb or kit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Those are 9005's and you can also use Halogen Infrared Reflector bulbs in the 9011 size ( I did ).

Search is your friend, but the H-11 HIR bulbs are really good. You just need to cut a tab.

This would not work for anything except DRL. The lumen output is probably about a magnitude off of what a real halogen or HIR puts out for high beams. Since you would have no high beams, you may be considered illegal according to state and federal motor vehicle codes, although I know that never stopped anyone, unless you have annual inspections like we do here in VA. Personally, I like having the high beams.

I dropped HIDs into mine. You lose DRL, you get bad @$$ HID for get out of the way action or night driving.

Ebay kits go for $50 shipped, I went with 10k

Hey do you have a pic of these while in DRL mode? are they the same yellowish/stock color when in the drl? because i have 9005 yellow luminics in my drl and i love them, but i'm working on a project right now and might need to get more of a white colored look.

thanks for all the input guys. I think I will go with either piaa bulbs to make it keep both drl and high beam or maybe with a HID kit but I really want to keep my drl.

I got the PIAA Super GT-X bulbs with purple tints, let me know if you want them. I decided to go w/ HIDs ultimately.

037, I'm itching to get rid of my DRL...so you put HID into the high beam, do you get the "CHECK DRL" message on your gauge cluster?

I do when I have my lights in the off position.

I just drive with my lights on all the time, so that is rarely an issue.

On another note, you will have to go with a higher fuse, standard is 10 and I blew 2 of those already.

My mechanic said a 20 should be fine since the flow is not constantly huge, but that sometimes it spikes and knocks out the weaker 10.
