Possible 2016 owner quick question
Sup AZine. Ok I have a quick question, is this an ASPEC model? It isn't listed as one, but from my untrained eye it looks like it is. Sorry for the stupid question lol, but thanks for any input.

Thanks!
Thanks! I'd rather not have the lower chrome trim, but oh well. I should take delivery tomorrow, and the price will actually be 25,999 before taxes and fees.
This car will actually be my wife's car. She has been wanting a TLX, so I've been focusing on those. We came across this, and she had to have it! She prefers the smaller size of the ILX as well.

Ohh heck, I didn't realize it from the main photo.
yeah it does have the lower chrome option.
I'd swap those out for the color matched door guards you can get instead. They add extra defining lines to the car and look great since they are perfectly color matched (kit includes install template and such)
Kit is $220 direct from Honda. Don't pay anyone to install it since it takes about 30min tops to do it yourself. (Just follow the template and installation guide -online download .pdf-)
All it takes is some masking tape to line the template up right, then remove the 3M backing to the side molding and line up with the template. Easy.
======
As for your comments about possibly having a TLX instead.
I too prefer the smaller ILX over the TLX. I had a SH-AWD model as a loaner over the weekend (ILX at dealership for brake service), and came back rather underwhelmed by the TLX.
Sure fast in a straight line, but felt much bigger and heavier then the ILX. Had a lot of tech sure, but the ILX is much more driver focused.

Thanks Thmanx. The pics you posted look great! I thought the chrome trim is what you were talking about lol. I normally research the shit out of the cars I'm about to buy. but since this ILX came out of nowhere for us, we had to jump on it as soon as we saw it! So I had no time to look into options and what not. As far as mods go, I try to do all mine myself. And that looks pretty straight forward. Thanks again for the input and suggestions!

I personally dont like the color matched moldings. Acura had an ilx with rear spoiler and side moldings available but i declined both. Only wanted the kit but never was a spoiler or moldings fan coming from modding integras. Wingless ftw and i always loved a side molding delete so i could never go out and add them on.
And btw, we did take delivery of the car. so I guess no point in this thread now, Maybe a mod can remove it?? I will make a formal pic introduction thread later

It must be an Integra Owner thing. Everyone loves the Type R body lines because of the smooth Molding Free look.

I would appreciate a side profile photo of your chrome door trim! I recently just ordered the chrome door mirror covers. I don't intend to go overkill with the chrome, but I appreciate a bit of contrast that the chrome can bring with moderation.

It looks magnificent! I also wonder, why did Acura leave the plastic trim around the fog light housing matte black and not gloss black like the TLX? My plan is to turn it gloss black so when I decide to wrap the beak in gloss black that it matches.
