Memory seat reset!!!!!

I have read every post on this forum including the ones for cl and tl. I have yet to find the solution to my memory seat problem. Before everyone starts posting links to other threads about linking the fob let me tell you IT IS NOT A FOB ISSUE. With that said..,, there is a dealer reset for the memory seat it's something they glhave to do whenever the battery is disconnected I know this because I've done it before, I just can't remember how it's done. PLEASE!!! If anyone knows how to reset the memory seats I would be ever thankful.

In the service manual under seats.pdf, there are instructions for removing the seat. Upon reinstallation, it says

Maybe search these items and try them. I think they may be in the manual too.

Read every section of the service manual and nothing on resetting memory seat. Not even after u remove the seats. That is so weird. U would think theyed add a little line in there about resetting the memory after disconnecting the battery and removing the entire seat. Still no resolve......

I realize we are focused on resetting the seat, but what are we trying to solve?

Is the seat not moving with the buttons/levers on the side or is it a memory issue?

Also I assume you are getting "welcome driver" message and the steering wheel is telescoping correctly.

I'm confused on the issue
I assume by everything works, that seat controls work.
Have you set the Memory for D1 and D2?

If you have properly set the memory buttons, I believe holding them down, and thats not working... I'm sorry to harp my friend, but i still believe your keys arent synched properly or you need a hard reset at the battery.

My last guess is a full battery replacement.

Do your outside mirrors operate correctly?
If the mirror rotates down in reverse, but fails to return to the normal position, the green D1 or D2 button will not light up.

I have this issue on very hot days.

Mirrors at both fine they both tilt down as back up. The memory seat unresponsiveness began after removing the battery. I've tried resinking the remote (I only have driver 2 fob) and still no fix.

Just to be clear, you have pushed "memo" button and then #2 button on door with car in park to set the D2 settings

strange
I believe the following items are controlled through the memory settings:
seat position
outside mirror positions
steering wheel position
radio presets
hvac temps

If you "mess" with any of these items and then press D2, does it change anything, i.e., change mirror position, then press D2 (not memo, then D2, just D2?
I'm wondering if a sensor is bad in mirror, seat, or steering adn system does not think it has correctly restored preferences and therefore green light does not come on

The steering wheel goes up and down when i turn the vehicle on and off but if I move the mirrors they dont move back to the memory set location. when I change the radio stations and presetts they dont revert back to driver #2 settings so imassuming theres somthing wrong with the memory module ...whatever that is.

This is has gotten to complicated to not be something simple.

If you dont have two fobs the stations and AC temps wont change because they remember the last setting... but if you set the memory properly (the green light is lit) then you change the seat or the steering wheel (the green light goes off) THEN leave the car and LOCK it... Unlock it and enter the car the seat or steering wheel will go back.

If you do not exit, lock, and unlock the car it will not reset.

For completeness of the thread, I found the steering column reset procedure.

1. Push the ignition switch for at least 2 seconds and release it, or insert the built-in key into the ignition
switch, and remove it.
2. The steering wheel automatically moves fully in and up to let you know the system is reset.
If steering wheel does not move automatically, go to step 3.
3. Move the steering wheel to the highest position and hold that position by pushing and holding the
adjustment button for at least 2 seconds.
4. Then, move the steering wheel to the most inward position, and hold that position by pushing and
holding the adjustment button for at least 2 seconds.

I don't know what kind of bug is in the memory seat system but today i got my vehicle tinted and the guys at the tint shop moved my drivers seat. when i got the car back I reclined the seat back and pressed my memory 2 button and vualla !!!! it now works. this isn't really a solution but i figured moving the seat both bottom and the back rest and then pressing one of the buttons might bring it back to its setting position......worth a try
