Talking I Heart SH-AWD

This car looks like a boat to the passerby and you'd think it would be a total yacht in the corners but that SH-AWD system is absolutely incredible. I just carved up 20 miles of Skyline Boulevard, a winding, well-maintained road in the Forest Park area and feel so much happier than I did an hour ago.

The thing about SH-AWD is that you have to throw away everything you think you know about this car if you want to exploit the full potential of the system. Powering into a corner with a FWD car would be a recipe for front-end plow and likely some disaster, as well. But the RL just loves it when you give it a bit of gas through the apex of a turn and I've found that if you let off, it gets a bit squirrely. But get back on the go pedal and it re-plants itself as if nothing ever happened. The RL never ceases to make me smile when I find a nice banked corner and power into it. It feels as though the road and the tires are opposite pieces of velcro.

The sad thing is that 99.99% of all RL and Legend owners out there will never know just how much of a handler this supposed land yacht really is. So go make your RL feel loved; show it some turns.

You are so right! You have to learn how to drive an rl. You have to go g
faster when you think you should go slower!

Shawd is amazing

There's a great old thread here where TampaRL details what happens when a boy racer TL driver tries to keep up with him at 60 mph+ on a highway cloverleaf off-ramp. Needless to say the RL was fine and the TL ended up in the guardrail.

And I know some people think the paddles are useless but I prefer them when corner carving because it lets me hold a lower gear and keep both hands on the wheel.
