sounds like a good idea.

What you can do in MDX is look down on people...

Well I detailed the MDX, found 2 little dents. I suppose I will get those fixed before I unload her. 2 more days before I get home and seeing my RL!!! Still have to name her.

2010s are the same car, curious to see when they hit the dealerships and if any owners pop up in here.

I am sad, I VOLUNTEERED to go grocery shopping when we got back from VAC just so I could drive my car immediately. She is a seductress.

Wipers.....:thumbsdow. Have driven through a few rains and they are streaking. Gonna get the PIAA Super Silicones on order. So far the only thing I can complain about.

make sure you get just the inserts not the whole assembly.

I have talked my dealer into changing those at no cost. It helps if you also have an oil change or something so they do get paid for something.

The wipers can also be adjusted. I had my dealer adjust the tension on both, and they clean great now. Blades are same as delivered on drivers side, passenger was replaced free of charge under warranty.

Attn 09 owners, K&N has finally coughed up a filter for us. $45 through K&N Ebay store...or wherever you can find one :-)

I ordered one couple of minutes ago, will let you know how well it fits if I can figure out how to use it.

I like them. My gut reaction was in a way I think you would be making your car look more like TL. If you are gonna go new rims, I would find ones that separate from anything stock.

After thinking about it a bit, no you wouldn't. This is in an RL. If you like them, do it and they will look fantastic.

Performance upgrades etc

1. K&N filter, cost $46, installing is a bit of a pain as you have to remove the battery to get to it.
2. Attempted to install the 08 TL intake, let's just say the sensor was like 6x the size of the little hole in it so that failed miserably (resulted in the install of the KN filter which I bought a week prior)
3. UR pulley (UR - Unorthodox Racing) - purchased at visionaryracing.com and was told it would work...should find out tomorrow. Total is close to $400 with install even though I am told I am getting ripped off on the install.

So...the only thing I was able to use this far was the KN filter, and I am happy with it for the price.

My tranny started shifting smoother...go figure. I had 18k on the car at the time, so I assume a regular engine filter change may have done the trick too.

After the pulley I will run the car with GT2 and let you know if it got any faster.

Intake was $277 or so from Tire Rack and I managed to refuse the package and only lose $17 with this experiment.

here is the part # of the pulley I got and manual

http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/guides/020611402.pdf

http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/Item...rtID=020611402

I also ordered their belt even though I'd have to install it later, no clue how the belt can give 11-15hp...maybe they refer to it as a combo with a Pulley which would make the belt give you nothing...I don't know.

while randomly reading UR website it says that you MUST change the belt when installing a pulley...sh!t!

called my mechanic and cancelled...gonna get the belt first.

geez...never assume these people know what the heck they doing...I need a new mechanic now.

Thinking about getting a '09 RL Tech Package (Blue on Black). 23k miles. $39k. Seems pricey based on what I read here. Pricing aside, you guys pretty happy? I'd be going from an '08 TL Type S to the RL. Looking for more comfort.

Glad your MPG improved. I have been getting 25-27 highway, but drive likely slower than you (70-75). I am still in the "new' phase, so don't know how that will decrease over time. You using premium? (93)

Very happy. Been a real nice ride.

Price isn't bad on that RL. Is that CPO? If so, not a bad deal. I would work it down if you can, but not over priced based on what I have been tracking on Autotrader.

there was one time a gas attendant attempted to sabotage me...he managed to put in 3c worth of 87 before I told em I'm gonna sue em till his lease on the station is out...

Guy couldn't get my credit card to work so he hit random buttons with the 2nd one.

Nothing but 93 touches my engine.

I have a heavy foot...but generally city driving kills my mileage to 12-14mpg.

I think you can push the price lower. Or at least get them to give you an extended warranty.

It's a reliable car and low risk for them.

I haven't done anything since my foglight project. They are holding up well as is the car. About 8900 miles thus far. I really have enjoyed driving in the snow, used to hate it, now I look forward to it, well, at least short distances. Nothing like going up the hill in my neighborhood with ease while my neighbors need running starts. SH_AWD is the shizznits.

Your RRP is looking sweet, I like those rims, they look great. That rear spoiler is also growing on me. I saw one on an OBP '09, looked sharp as well. May get one. We'll see, want to get to the spring and detail her.

let me know if you want the spoiler, I got mine for $310 shipped and it's over $50 more if you order it anywhere else.

Hey your car looks great man! I really like the painted grille, 3000k fogs, and wheels. It all looks terrific!

Was painting the grille a huge cost? I take it they had to sand it down?

What brand did you get for the 3000k fogs? I'm thinking I want to do those in the Spring.

I had a friend paint the grill and the supplies ran $45 for 2 spray cans of paint, satin black for the bottom part and clearcoat and primer.

Honestly, go out and pay $150 for a professional paint than to have your friends slave over the stupid thing for 2 hours.

fogs are www.ddmtuning.com raptor/apexone brand. I am running 50w ballasts/bulbs which might not run happily on any car. I am running them to stock wiring even though I've had issues where one would go off randomly in the past.

I've tried to run separate wiring to just 1 of the lights and 3 out of 3 harnesses failed while connected directly to the battery, not sure if they aren't strong enough of just bad wires.

Overall very happy with the result as the 35w 3,000k were greenish on my car for whatever reason.

...and 037, nice job with the painted grille. Changes the car.

I wish Ronjon would make his TL grille to fit the RL, but I fear there is not the market for it.

Bob, after you think about the small RL market, add to that CMBS and you're down to 1.

Not to be disrespectful or anything but IMO the 06 model is nicer looking on the exterior if done with Aspec..... 09 design is quite awkward

I purchased a used silver 09 CMBS RL for my wife in February to replace her 1998 RL. I use my 04 6MT TL as a commuter car and rarely drive the RL. But I have taken the car to a couple of golf tournaments in Monterey, CA (about 115 miles) and love the active cruise control. Every time I drive it I can't help but think "NICE CAR". However my next car is going have an adjustable suspension as I prefer the softer ride that my 95 Legend 6MT coupe and 98 RL had to this 2009 RL.

well, if money is no object and you like the car, there are Tein electronically adjustable coilovers available that you can use.

That way you can adjust stiffness on the fly. I would guess the TL you regularly drive is a stiffer car than the RL.
