I was under the impression they were the same.

Are you saying my car has a different pattern, offset, or something somewhere?

I am pretty sure they are the same.

P.S. Tirerack thinks so too.

New 09 Owner

Hey, all! I've been floating around AZ for a couple of years with not much to say but lots of interest. Now that I've traded my '05 for an '09 tech (black/parchment, $41K), I thought I'd join the '09 group!

I actually went to the Acura dealership in Nashua NH today to buy some upper ball joint and arm because my 97rl failed MA inspection.
I inquired about the 2009 RL and they did not have any in stock they had sold out on all of them, they only had one all the way in the back that was sold but you could only check it on the outside.
Man I really wanted to check the interior of the new RL. I looked at the rear of the car, it was black and it just does not look good to me, I think you got one of the few colors that works well for the rear of the car, it does not look good in all colors. The front I just wish they could transplant in it the lights and grill of the 05 rl, the new grill is just crazy.
Don't get me wrong there is still a lotta good they did with the car but whoever is designing the new grills for Acura should be locked up in a dungeon and be brought out everyday to receive a public whipping with an Cat o' nine tails.

Hello all, just purchased my '09 RL on Saturday. I bought a new Silver Jade Metallic, Taupe interior, Tech package. Quite a journey to arrive at this car as I was looking all over creation for a cert pre-owned, but they kept getting sold before I could get to them. Found a dealer willing to unload a new one for a great price not to far away (well, less than 200 miles from home). This car was well worth the effort to shop. Love the AWD. Steering gets tighter the faster you go. Love accelerating into turns. So far I am very happy. Just ordered the matching splash guards and floor mats. Can't wait to drive it around tonight to see all those purdy lights. Here are some pics of my girl and thanks for sharing in my joy:

Will do. The initial tires on our '05 MDX (also Michelin) lasted about 18 months. I am expecting about the same.

I never doubted that the tires can go on forever, I just didn't like the wet/dry road handling.

What did you replace them with? I have a family connection at Bridgestone that gets me a discount Not a bad deal, but not significant enough that I wouldn't deviate for a good tire from another manufacture. Your are a northeaster, so you deal with snow/ice like I will. Appreciate your thoughts.

I had Michelin MXM4 tires on 3 of my cars. 2000 Maxima SE (replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S), then 2006 TL (replaced with Bridgestone 960AS) then the current RL (replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S - they were on close out).

I feel either one of those two tires dramatically improves wet traction and cornering ability.

Then again, I drive over the speed limit in the rain...so I need the extra grip. I don't like slowing down in turns either...so I prefer to be glued to the road vs flying off.

Bridgestone 960's to me seemed a bit weaker than the Pilot Sport's A/S but they are usually cheaper. In the snow they almost drove me into a wall because I couldn't stop from 5 mph while turning.

If you see no snow and you got a bridgestone connection, I would recommend 960's.

If money is not an issue get the Pilot Sport A/S Plus.

My fellow '09 owners (I think I have seen 3 others on here), how cold do your seats get at level 3? I expect arctic, but it is just pleasant. Curious what you are experiencing.

at level 3 they get cold enough to be felt but nowhere near freezing your .... basically the @$$ does not sweat anymore.

I don't think this feature was meant to freeze anything...that's a law suit for infertility etc...

I'm done having kids, so this wouldn't be a concern . I just wanted my @$$ to go numb if I wanted it to. It doesn't, but is still is cool and comfortable, a nice feature.

Right now I am at the in-laws for the week (mind you day 2 of 8). We had to take the MDX to haul all our gear. I am sad to say I have separation anxiety from my RL. I am gonna detail the MDX this week and just pretend it is my RL. The MDX rocks, but it isn't an RL. At least the wife will get a clean car out of the deal.
