My trunk latch failed a few weeks back and would not latch. I drove around for a couple of weeks with the lovely beep beep beep of an unlatched trunk while I awaited delivery of the replacement part. Then one day the truck latched itself again. When the part arrived I tried to open the trunk but no luck. I pulled all the trim off an found the trunk release lever but no luck it wont move enough to unlatch. I looked at how the mechanism worked on the new one and tried to get it to open but no luck. I even looked under the car to see if I could spot the trunk hook mounting points and just unbolt them but no dice.

Any thought or recommendations?
