2017 RDX passenger side window glass shatters

I just got my RDX 2 weeks ago, and recently I noticed that when my car hit some pit on highway or run on poor street roads, it sounds like passenger side window is vibrating and shattering, is that abnormal, as I expected Acura to be much better than this.

Rattles aren't normal. Your car should be under warranty so take it in!

well, it's not always there, and sounds more like a bee, buzzzzzzzz, when it rattles.

sounds like components rubbing against each other.

you can either;
A) take it in to dealer to see if they have a TSB or if they've come across this issue before...

or

B) take the door panel off and physically check yourself to see if any metal on metal action is going on..

I would choose B.

True....
But I like doing that kinda stuff.
super easy to pull the door panel off, only like 4 screws.

is option A) worth my time? will they even find it?
with option B) would I even find it???

or solution C) turn up the RADIO!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm not even quite sure if it's coming from the door, it sounds like the top corner of the glass is shaking when there's pits on the road.

If your window is open even slightly then the rattle is normal operation. Was the same in my previous car (Toyota rav4). But if your window is closed and you still get the rattle then its not normal. I doubt Acura techs will find it, and they will leave it in worse shape if they do try.

even if the window is open it should not rattle. I would guess that one of the track bushings is missing or prematurely worn... I have a Subaru with a frameless window design and it NEVER rattles when the window is up down or partially down even after 106K miles. the Window on the Acura sits in a frame and therefore should not move or rattle for that matter even over the most severe bumps

Add me to the list of affected cars...2020 A-Spec and window shattered when closing driver door... I tuck taped the window to keep the cold out and wouldn't you know it, my dealer (North Toronto Acura) is moving into the Honda dealer down the road so there is no one there to help right now.

Has anyone in Toronto managed to get it replaced under warranty (mine expires in Aug of this year)??? If so, what dealership?

Thanks

This happened to my 2019 RDX yesterday in the garage. Acura Canada denied it was a known issue even though there is service bulletin (22-014). Dealership didn’t want to handle it, referring me to Acura Canada instead. I will pay out of pocket and try seek reimbursement. Hopefully, the class action lawsuit in the U.S. will lead to a recall for owners in Canada.
