2016 RDX Trunk issues
Hey All. Picked up a ore owned 2016 tech RDX 2 weeks ago from a acura dealer. Today I did groceries and opened my trunk with the key fib with no issues. When I got home to unload the groceries, I used the key fob to open the trunk. The trunk opened half way then proceeded to go back down and close. I pressed the key fob again to open the trunk and an amber light lit up but the trunk didnt open. Tried the button under the license plate and it didnt open
Just heard a clicking sound. Tried the trunk button in the car and still nothing. The dash displays tailgate open but it looks like it slightly open but I cant push it completely closed. What's even more strange is while I was trying to figure out the trunk buttons, I noticed my sun roof slightly open along with all my windows?? Anyone experience this? I'm bringing my car to an acura dealer tomorrow to see what's going on but wanted to have an idea of what's going on before hand. I hope this isn't a sign of issues to come. Also is this an item covered under warranty.? I still have some factory warranty left.
Thanks!!

That certainly seems like something that would be covered under warranty. I've never had anything like that happen to our 2014. The sunroof will open (along with all windows) if the door unlock button is held continuously - is it possible that key on the fob was depressed briefly? Not sure why that would impact the hatch door, though.
Just an fyi for the future: while you may be used to using the keyfob for unlocking and opening doors, it is not necessary with the entry features of this car.
All you have to do is have the key close by and you can walk up to the hatch and just open it. When opening the door (drivers or passenger) you just place your hand behind the handle.
Don't touch the little black button on the door. That is to lock up when leaving. If the last place you have open is the hatch, there is a lock button under to the right to lock up the whole car.
Do spend some time with the manual and using the set up menus in the MID (multi information display) You can have the door locks act in very specific ways according to what
you want (or are just used to) The default is probably to only open the drivers door when unlocking. We have ours set to unlock all doors and the hatch, as that is easier when many
are getting in and the hatch is being opened to load. The driver's door only is for being single most of the time and wanting safety above all.
I do wish Acura would prioritize, like they do when buying new, having a specialist go over the whole car upon delivery. We too were sent off, very late with nothing explained to us.
Many systems are not intuitive, like Navigation. Who would think that one uses the Menu button to enter a destination manually. (don't get me started on how bad the the voice recognition is)
I mean, wouldn't you press NAV? No.

Ok, fanboys, but those of us with 2016-2018 models get to discuss our features on here. As I said above, even the base model of those have an auto hatch,
proximity keyless entry, and push button start. Just because you don't have to deal with that does not in any way make you superior. Just different.
Another thing I learned here is that, when pressing the button on the fob or dash to open the hatch, one must press & hold the button.
When opening directly at the hatch, the extra hold time is not necessary on that button.

Erm proximity keyless and push button start is part of all models. But if you want to highlight your difference by bumbling around with gimmicky glitchy prone hatches, a pair of manual lifts can be had for 50 bucks from your local Pep-Boyz
