I am also located in the Bay Area and looking to purchase a 2013 RDX this weekend.
Do you mind to tell me which dealership you got the price quote with?
Thanks in advance.

Price in Bay area
I color I wanted was not on site so had to be brought in from a Pleasanton dealer (I did not pay anything extra for that).
Out of the three, Serramonte had the best selection - at least 10 cars on the lot with various combinations.
Good luck with your search. Awesome vehicle by the way!!

I went to a dealership today and the best they can offered was $40,370 OTD but they didn't have the color I want in the lot. They were able to find one from other dealership but the car has 200+ miles on it.....

RDX in Bay area!!
Another thing would be to go to the internet page of these dealership and request a quote for what u are looking for.
U could ask them for a model that has less than 20 miles on it. To my knowledge bay area dealers get deliveries every Thursday (specially the ones that do a lot of business) i.e Serramonte and Fremont!

I went to Stevens Creek Acura and the combinations are FWD with Technology pkg in silver moon color. I even told them I can leave some deposit and wait for the next deliveries but they dont have the combination I want on the list for the next month. I am going to try on internet see if I get any luck. Fremont Acura quoted me $40,500 over the phone.
You should be able to get $2000 off the top trim at several dealers in Bay Area, and slightly less for FWD model.

I was helping my aunt to purchase this RDX and got it for $40,300 OTD today over the phone and had my aunt go there to finish the paper work so didn't get to see the break down but i think that is probably close to $2000 off the MSRP. It didn't seem any of the dealers in the bay area wiling to go for <$40k..... I am curious how other members able to get it for $39k~.

I got a quote for RDX FWD with tech package for 37415 (MSRP 38020+895 = 38915) and after taxes in NC OTD price came to 39100. He is giving All season protection package I ( weather mats + wheel locks + splash guards ) and cargo tray with this price. Is this a good deal??

Would u mind sharing the dealer name? also does NC mean Northern California or North Carolina?

I bought mine earlier than I expected to, to take advantage of end-of-the-month pressure on the dealer's part. I went to Acura of Boston. I got a much better vibe from then than Herb Connolley in Framingham. They gave me $1000 off MSRP without asking. With some pressure, I was able to get the side body molding and splash guards thrown in for free, including installation, meaning I really got about $1600 off MSRP. I'm happy with that number, and with the dealer. And, of course, with the car.

In Northern California invoice is pretty easy to get now, but not under, I guess the significant lexus discounts and other aggressive sales of competitors are making things very competitive.
#253
Try to ask for certain accessories to be thrown in or discounted price.
I believe since they are built in Ohio now they have a bit of room to move on the destination charge, invoice is no big deal at all.

Here in the upper Midwest it is hit or miss with pricing on the RDXs. Dealers that don't have much inventory are quoting retail, or $300-$500 off sticker. Find the larger dealerships with inventory in the larger cities. Was able to get quotes of $38,500 & $38,800 for an AWD Tech in Chicago which I considered a good deal.
However, I am disappointed my local dealer wasn't even in the ballpark @ $300 off sticker. Considering they don't have any on the lot, simply taking my order for a RDX would have netted them a $1,500 profit. I am still stunned they would turn this opportunity down.
Took delivery this week and am very pleased so far..

At the end of the month, I got $2,240 off of MSRP on a white 2013 RDX AWD with Tech. The key, as many people have pointed out, is to wait till the end of the month.
I'd also try to go to a high volume dealer, to the extent you can tell, because those dealers are in the running for additional manufacturer incentives (aka $$$) and care the most about their monthly sales numbers. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck, Alex

Hi, Rod. You make a very good point.
In my case, I actually started looking at the RDX (test driving, light dickering) much earlier in the month and did the deal about 3 days before month-end. I suspect that might have been ideal (by accident) because the dealer had not yet made his monthly sales target, but was within striking distance and still cutting good deals for buyers.
My best advice is that if you're not seeing a pretty steep discount around month-end, try a different dealer. (Playing dealers off against each other at month-end is probably a good idea, too.) To state what should be obvious, buying a car is complicated and time-consuming if you want to get a good deal. Dealers are NOT in business to give lazy consumers fabulous bargains. As a buyer, you have to do your homework, be patient, and don't believe anything a dealer tells you about pricing. In fact, don't believe a dealer about the time of day unless you're staring a clock when he does. Again, just my 2 cents.

Thank You aks1972 for your kind reply! Will buy late Fall/early Winter so may indeed touch base with you for feedback on other Bay Area dealers. We have already contacted Acura Oakland as they are the designated dealer for AAA buying program in NoCal. Reno Acura is nearest to Tahoe but thus far prices are at a premium due to regional ad fee and low inventory.

The price may go further down when the newness dies off as well as new Q5 comes into play.

We will also be shopping the Bay Area for an RDX and would love to know name of this dealer. Can anyone share this with me?

By that time, Acura RDX might be available in Costco program as well. I tried with Costco when I bought (last month) but being too new there were no good incentives. I think I was able to get a good enough deal given the circumstances.

Think it normally takes 6+ months for Acura to get enough new models in the pipeline for prices to naturally come down, the main reason we are delaying purchase until late Autumn, even though our old mountain savvy Subaru Outback definitely needs replacement.

I read this whole thread before I started the buying process so I figure at the very least I should tell future readers how my purchase turned out...
I went the internet route - contacted 10 dealers in a 300 mile radius of my home. Asked for their best price - one shot only & I would be buying in the next week, financing pre-approved. I saved $900 off msrp, got an extra $1000 for my trade, accessories thrown in for free, and .5% reduction in financing.
I wish I could have saved a little bit more on the purchase price but still happy with the overall savings

First started looking at pricing about two months ago on Edmunds, they quoted a TMV price of 39,424 back in late June. Fast forward two months, and they have adjusted this down to 38,651, difference of 773. New buyers might have more wiggle room.

I'm looking to buy my in the next week or two. What should my strategy for negotiating ?
Should I bring in 50k in cash and say if I don't get a good deal, ill go down to the bmw dealer and get a x3 instead ?

Your best strategy is honestly to read this thread from start to finish. Even if no one has posted from your area the advice/pricing trends are basically consistent across all of north america.

I dont think showing then 50K for a 36-37K car is a good idea, but that is just me. You may have more experience and success with your approach. Who am I to question that!!
Thanks

I think we really need a "sign-in" thread like the other gen cars have where people can post their prices.

What are people's opinions on how prices will change over the coming months and year? I'm in the market for the 2013 RDX, but thanks to its high price tag, won't be purchasing until June 2013 or so (need to come up with a solid DP of $10k to reduce monthly payments... $600/month is crazy). That being said, do you think prices will come down by next summer? If so how much do you think? Throwing this question out there
#275
Instructor
I don't think you'll see a substantial price drop between now and summer '13 unless the 2014 RDX's are out and dealers are trying to dump 2013 model inventory.
The model will still be only about 18 months old next summer so your best bet is to shop around especially around holiday weekends and the end of the month. I'll put it this way - you can probably get 2k off MSRP now. You may get closer to 3k in end-of-model-year conditions but that's up to you to decide if it's worth the effort and wait.

Well I don't WANT to wait But have to wait because I need to come up with about $10k to get the loan price down! My RSX has 170k miles on it. Acura offered me an upsetting $1500 on the trade in and said I should just sell it privately because I could make more than double that way. But will take a good year to come up with the remaining $7000+ in cash
$3000 off MSRP is fine by me and in my book, thats a deal I'm willing to take if its available next summer.

Please, do not put money down on your car. Interest rates are so low today and GAP insurance is all but included with the loans. If you drive the car off the lot and it gets totaled, you can just about flush that $10k down the toilet. Insurance companies NEVER reimburse for what you owe, but what they think the market would pay you.
#278
Try Tru-Car
I was told by a friend in the car sales business to go to Tru-Car.com and spec the exact RDX (color and specs) I wanted to buy. List price was 36,600. I got 3 prices from dealers in the area from Tru-Car and the best was 34,450.00, with the other two being slightly over 35K. Once I had the actual email from the dealer stating they guarenteed the price I printed it out and took it to the dealer locally and they did match the price. I believe this is slightly under dealer tissue but there is always a "pay back" that Acura gives them in the end. They were happy and made money I am sure, I was happy and purchased the vehicle I wanted in the color and AWD without tech. Remember a firm deal for the dealer is better than floor planning the car. I was prepared to purchase the car on the spot, and took a deposit check with me to show them it was no BS. Before I even attempted to negotiate price, I had driven the RDX and decided I was going to purchase it without hesitation, as long as the price was agreeable to everyone. I was in commercial printing sales for 24 years and realize that for every close low profit deal, there will be 10 higher profit deals to recover the money. As long as you aren't "loosing" money, which no dealer will do, its a win and one more unit off the floor plan.

That would be a great idea... if I were rich and could afford $640+ a month. Unfortunately, I do not have that type of money and need to put down a solid down payment to get the car payments to about $450 a month. I can also drive off the lot, not get my car totaled, but be paying so much per month that I have to decide between groceries or car payment. That extra $200 goes far
