I swapped out my headers for an ebay set while doing the 05 TL trans swap on my 02 CL-S.

About a day later the CEL came on and was giving codes for both oxygen sensors and they both were replaced. CEL stayed off but returned a day later with the bank 1 heater sensor malfunction.

The codes always say its the heater that is malfunctioning.

- I thought adding some 02 sensor extensions which position them further from the exhaust flow would help, still getting CEL.

- I followed the wires back to check for any damage on the harness and found nothing.

- I have also used a couple of NEW sensors to eliminate the possibility of a faulty unit but as many time as I exchange them for NEW ones the code always returns.

ONLY thing I can think of is the headers, cause I did not get these codes prior to changing the old ones out.

Anyone had any similar issue with this, I have searched but found nothing.

Maybe the extra flow or heat throws them off spec. Could be the ebay headers too. There is a o2 sensor trick mod with diodes as an option if you can't get them to work but you want to keep the headers.

 

I have tried OEM and Denso and universal. They all work a day or two and then start throwing codes.

I'm planning on selling the car and will probably just put the stock headers back with some NEW sensors. Insurance on 2 cars has been killing me and I rather keep my 4 banger Integra.
