Bulb inside an ashtray?
Bulb inside an ashtray?
Hello.
I have a CL-P which has 135k on it. The bulb was burnt out a week ago. How to replace the bulb? What kinds of bulb do I need? Also does the DC power jack have a bulb ?
thanks.

I hope he's joking.
Not sure what kinda bulb it is but I know its gonna be really small. I tried looking for the bulb in the parts diagram but its not listed there so if you want to replace it then you might have to replace the whole upper part. Mine is burnt out since I bought the car and I dont worry about it too much. If it really bothers you then you could buy a LED bulbs an tap it into the wires behind the ashtray.

Its not an ashtray (and the sticker that you see as soon as you open the compartment should say so), and its plastic lined with red felt so that should be all the reason you need not to put hot embers in there.
Next, your not going to be able to replace that bulb without removing the entire stereo, so you may want to factor in the trouble its going to be to complete. You may not be able to replace the bulb anyway, its an entire assembly connected to and powered by the juice that feeds the DC adapter.
I installed my pioneer HU last summer, and I don't think I would want to disassemble that entire cluster again just to change out that bulb. If your only using it for change (basically I couldnt find any other use for it) just grab until you have enough. Eff that lil green light!
