For about the last 5K miles or so i have had this whining noise coming from the engine bay when i have my foot on the accelerator it just keeps getting louder until i hit 80MPH and then its gone anyone have this problem , i took it to my local acura dealer and they did a complete engine flush and tranny flush under warranty and it got a lot softer and then came back again. by the way my car has 36K miles on it and all maintenamce has been done at dealer. any input would be appreciated

It could be a vacuum leak.

OMG!!! Mine started making that same whine 4 days ago after taking off hard with a cold engine! I am completely obsessed with figuring out all of the circumstances of when it does it so the dealer can tell me that they "don't hear anything out of the ordinary" - they never hear anything!

well friday my car went in to acura to be diagnosed the tranny was shifting very hard and sometimes didnt want to shift at all so i dropped it off and they gave me a corolla rental (gag) but anyway its better than walking and good news for me is that they have 3 cl-s at the same dealer with the same problem so they will be proficient by the time they get to mine. Well, what was the problem and what did they do to fix it? I still have that whining noise but everything else seems to be in perfect order.

Wow! Sorry that happenend, but glad your car is running well. I am going to just crank up the volume on the stereo until either the car dies or it goes in for it's scheduled servce in 2K more miles.

I told you guys MONTHS ago that the service manager at my dealer said they get at least two CLs a month coming in with tranny problems.
